Board of Commissioners met in regular session, February
5th, 1923. Lleeting was called to order by Mayor Dyar, the
roll was called and Commissioners Campbell,Dyar and Hargett
and City Attorney Buzick responded.
The minutes of the Regular meeting of January 29th, 1923,
and the Special ?.Ieeting of January 29th, 1923 were read and
approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance mak-
ing a-ppropriations for miscellaneous purposes.T'
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adopttion the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar
and Hargett (3) Nays: (0) The Dlayor approved the same and is
numbered 2675.
The following resolution was introduced for second reading:
BE IT RDSOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the
City of Salina, Kansas that the curbing, guttering, excavating_,
grading and paving: of Twelfth Street in the City of Salina,
Kansas from the south line oth street to the north line of
1.1o.rrison Avenue in said City, be and the same is hereby determine)
to be a necessary improvement, and that said Twelfth 'treet in
the City of Salina, Kansas be curbed, guttered, excavated,
graded and paved between the limits above defined.

Kansas that the curbing, gutter, excavating, grading and
paving of Ninth Street in the City of Salina, Kansas from the
south line o .Si son Street to the north line of Republic
Avenue in said City, be and the same is hereby determined to
be a necessary improvement, and that said Ninth Street, be
curbed, guttered, excavated, graded and paved within the limits
above defined.

City Engineer submitted a detailed report on the remon-
strance protesting against the paving of Gypsum ';venue from
Front Street to Columbia Avenue.
Commissioner Hargett moved that the remonstrance filed
be determined to be insufficient. Motion adopted.

strance protesting against the paving of Ash Street from Penn
Avenue to Ohio Street.
Commissioner Campbell moved that the remonstrance filed

strance protesting against the paving of Morrison Avenue from
Eleventh Street to Tarelfth Street.
Commissioner Hargett moved that the remonstrance filed
be determined to be insufficient. Motion adopted.
A petition was presented protesting against the establishing
of a Junk Yard on Eighth Street between North Street and Lincoln
Avenue. Same was received and ordered filed.
A petition was presented asking for the curbing,uttering,
excavating, grading and paving of Phillips Street from Rsh.
Street to Park Street. Same was referred to the City 1-1.1anager.
A petition was presented asking for the installation -of an
are light at the intersection of Elm Street and Des Moines, and
one at the intersection of Elm Street and Ohio Street. Same
was referred to the City Manager.
A petition was received asking for the extension of water
main on Pacific Street from Santa Fe Avenue to Fifth Street,
thence south on Fifth Street to Woodland Avenue. Same was re-
ferred to the City Manager.
A resolution was introduced for first reading providing
for the vacating and excluding from the City of Salina, llansas
certain lots, streets and alleys in Leavenworth Addition to the
City of Salina, Kansas.
Commissioner Campbell moved that it is the sense of the
Commissioners that the resolution be approved, and that same
would be finally adopted at the next regular meeting.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the curbing, guttering, excavating,
grading and paving of College Avenue in the City of Salina,
Kansas from the south TTn—e of Walnut Street to the north line of
Spruce Street in said City, and providing for the cost thereof,
how the same shall be assessed and the manner of payment therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the curbing, guttering, excavating,
grading and paving of Crawford Avenue in the City of Salina,
Kansas from the west line of NinthStreet to the west line of,
Tenth Street in said City, and providing for the cost thereof,
how the same shall be assessed and the manner of payment therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.

An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the curbing, guttering, excavating,
grading and paving of Crawford Avenue in the City of Salina,
Kansas from the west line of NinthStreet to the west line of,
Tenth Street in said City, and providing for the cost thereof,
how the same shall be assessed and the manner of payment therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.

Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the curbing, guttering, excavating,

Columbia Avenue in said City, and providing for the cost there-

cost thereof, hour the same shall be assessed and the manner of
payment therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the curbing, guttering, excavating,
grading and paving Fourth Street in the City of Salina, Kansas
from the north line of Sou Street to the intersection of said
` street and the Smoky Bill River, at or south of the Iron Avenue
Bridge in said City, and providing for the cost thereof, how the
same shall be assessed and the manner of payment therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the curbing, guttering, excavating,
grading and paving of Elm Street in the City of Salina, Kansas
from the west line of Ninth St Feet to the east line of College
Avenue except the intersection of Twelfth Street and Thirteenth
Street, which are hlready paved, in said City, and providing for
the cost thereof, how the same shall be assessed and the manner
of payment therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the curbing, guttering, excavating,
grading and paving of Phillips Street from the north line of
Park Street to the sou=ine of Bishop -treet in said City,
and providing for the cost thereof, how the same shall be
assessed and the manner of payment therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the curbing, guttering, excavating,
grading and paving, of Jewell Avenue in the City of Salina, Kansas,
from the west line of Sana Fe Avenue to the east line of Ninth
Street in said City, and providing for the construction thereof,
hove the same shall be assessed and the manner of payment there -
for."
On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the curbing, guttering, excavating,
grading and paving of Ninth Street in the City of Salina, Kansas
from the south line of Craw ord Avenue to the north line of
Bond Street in said City, and providing for the cost thereof,
how the same shall be assessed and the manner of payment there-
for."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.

grading and paving of Penn Avenue_ in the City of Salina, Kansas

On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the curbing, guttering, excavating,
grading and paving of Tenth Street in the City of Salina, Kansas
from the south.line of--grawrord Lvenue to the north line of
Frost Street in said City, and providing for the cost thereo;,
how the same be assessed and the manner of payment therefor.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance rroviding for the curbing, guttering, excavating,
grading and paving of Ninth Street in the City of Salina, Kansas,
from the north line of Bond Streetto the south line of tlilson
Street in said City, and providing for the cost thereof, how the
same shall be assessed and. the manner of payment therefor.
On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to the

An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the curbing, guttering, excavating,
grading and paving of Tjorrison Avenue in the City of Salina,
Kansas from the east line o F_even Street to the west line of
T+rrelfth Street in said City, and providing for the cost thereof,
hour the same shall be assessed and the manner of payment there-
for."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the curbing, guttering, excavating,
grading and paving of Beloit Avenue in the City of Salina,
Kansas from the east = ne or Santa re Avenue to the vest line of
the McPherson Branch Railroad Plight -of -way of the Union Pacific
Railroad Company, in said Cuty, and providing for the cost there-
of, how the same shall be assessed and the manner of payment
therefor.
On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.

grading and paving of Claflin Avenue in the City of Salina, Kansas
from the east line of Santa Fe Avenue to the west line of Fourth
Street in said City, and providing for the cost thereof, how the
same shall be assessed and the manner of payment therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the curbing, guttering, excavating,
grading and paving of Claflin Avenue in the City of Salina, Kansas
from the west line of Santa Fe Avenue to the west line of Highland
Avenue in said City, and providing for the cost thereof, how the
same shall be assessed and the manner of payment therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to
the hoard of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the excavating, grading and paving
of Ash Street in the City of Salina, Kansas from the east line
of Penn Avenue to the west line of Ohio Street in said City, and
providing for the cost thereof, hove the same shall be assessed
and the manner of payment therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the excavating, grading and paving
of Third Street in the City of Salina, Kansas from the south
line of Walnut Street to the south line of A'iulberry Street in
said City, and providing for the cost ti±ereof, how the same shall
be assessed and the manner of payment therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the excavating, grading and paving
of Eleventh Street in the City of Salina, Kansas from the south
line of Tron Avenue to the north line of' `Walnut Street in said
City, and providing for the cost thereof, how the same shall be
assessed and the manner of payment therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell, Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
