12-18-1922 Minutes1 3 �` COM:"TISSION RS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. CONYISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. DECEMBER 18th, 1922. Board of Commissioners met in regular session, December 18th, 1922. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Dyar, the roll was called and Commissioners Campbell, Dyar and Hargett and city Attorney Buzick responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 11th, 1922 were read and approved as read. The following resolution was introduced for second read- ing: BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the r City of Salina, Kansas that The Salina Water Works Company be and it is hereby instructed and ordered to lay and install a sig -inch water main, with water hydrants, located as di- rected by the Fire Chief of said City on Eighth Street from Harsh Street to Hamilton Street. Hargett (3 ) Nays: (0 ) The following resolution was introduced for second read- ing: BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas that the four north rooms on the third floor of the City Hall Building in Salina, Kansas, be leased to the Salina Chamber of Commerce for a term of five (5 ) years at a total rental of $5.00 for said term and that the proper officials of the City be and they are hereby authorized to execute and deliver a lease therefor. Banker My Cleric. i Commissioner Hargett moved that the resolution be adopted as read and on its final adopion the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar and Hargett (3 ) Nays: (0 ) The following resolution was introduced for second read- ing: BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas that the excavating, grading and paving of Eleventh Street in the City of Salina, Kansas from the south line of Iron Avenue to the north line of Walnut Street i n said City be and the same is hereby determined to be a necessary improvement, and that said Eleventh Street in the City of Salina, Kansas be excavated, graded and pave w in the limits above defined. On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar and Hargett (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 2632. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim." On motion of Commissioner Hargett the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar and Hargett (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is num- bered 2633. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim." On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had: Ayes: Campbell, Dyar and Hargett (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is num- bered 2634. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriations for miscellaneous purposes.' On motion of Commissioner Hargett the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar and Hargett (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is num- bered 2635. ' An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance amending Section Six (6) of Ordinance Number 2440 and repealing said original section." On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance creating and establishing Lateral Sewer District Number 5-C in the City of Salina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance creating and establishing Lateral Sewer District Number 4-F in the City of Salina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance creating and establishing Lateral Sewer District Number 5-F in the City of Salina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to Twelfth Street in the City of Salina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the Board of Commissioners." A resolution was introduced for first reading providing for the excavating, grading and paving of Claflin Avenue from the Fast line of 6anta Fe Avenue to the west line of Four treet. On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to the Board of Uommissioners. 140 A resolution was introduced for first reading providing for the curbing, guttering, excavating, grading and paving of Phillips Street from the north line of Park Street to the sout line of Bishop Street. On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. A resolution was introduced for first reading providing E for the curbing, guttering, excavating, grading and paving j of Seitz Street, (which is berg re -platted as Tenth Street) from the south line of Crawford Avenue to the north line off` Frost Street. On motion of Commissioner. Hargett same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. i A resolution was introduced for first reading providing s for the curbing, guttering, exca�a ting, grading and paving of GZpsum Avenue from the east line of Front Street to the east ' line of Columbia Avenue. g On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. y City Manager, V']. A. Layton, appointed Dr. S. T. Blades as City Physician, (without remuneration from the City), and on motion of Commissioner Campbell the appointment was con- firmed. City Manager, W. A. Layton, appointed Guy L. INhiteford as Motor Traffic Policeman, and on motion of Commissioner Hargett the appointment was confirmed. As Monday, December 25th, 1922, the date of the next regular meeting is a legal holiday, it was decided to hold the regular meeting on Tuesday, Dedember 26th, 1922. { On motion of Commissioner Campbell, Board of Commis- sioners adjourned.
