COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, SPECIAL MEETING.

SALINA, KANSAS.
DECEMBER 11th, 1922.
Board of Commissioners met in special session, December
11th, 1922 for the purpose of hearing any complaints that may
be made by property owners as to the appraisement placed upon
their property on which to base the cost of curbing, guttering,
excavating, grading and paving:
,Twelfth Street from the north line of State Street to
the south line o As Street;
Eleventh Street from the north line of Iron Avenue to
the sou line o ate Street;
w
Penn Avenue from the north line of Elm Street to River-
side Boulevard;
Elm Street from the east side of Elm Street Bridge to
west 1 ne of 0 'o Street;
Elm Street from the west line of Front Street to the
westside of Elm -street Bridge;
and for the excavating, grading and paving of:
Elm Street from the east line of Third Street to the
west line of t Street;
Ash Street from the east line of the Ash Street Bridge
to the east ne of Oakdale Avenue;
also for the curbing and guttering of:
Johnstown Avenue from the east line of Front Street to
the west line of OaTEdale Avenue.
Meeting was called to order by Mayor Dyar, the roll was
called and Commissioners Campbell, Dyar and Hargett and City
Attorney Buzick responded.
The appraisers report for the excavating, grading and
paving of Ash Street from the east line of the Ash Street
Bridge to the east a of Oakdale Avenue was taken up and
read as follows:

We, Wm. Muir, C. J. Peck and W. S. FRey, being duly
and severally sworn according to law, each for himself, does
hereby solemnly swear that he is an owner of real estate in
the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas, and is disinterested
in any of the property liable to special assessment for the
cost of excavating, grading and paving Ash Street from the
east line of the Ash Street Bridge to t e easf of Oakdale
Avenue as more particularly described and provided for in
Ordinance Number 2575 of the City of Salina; and that each
of us will to the best of our judgment and ability make a true
and impartial appraisement of all the lots and pieces of ground
abutting on such respective streets as above described, without
regard to the buildings or improvements thereon, the distance
to be improved, as set forth and designated by the Board of
Commissioners in said Ordinance Number 2575of the City of
Salina. So help us God.

Appraisers.
Commissioner Campbell moved that the appraisement on the
West 45. feet of North 90 feet, of Lot 24, Surveyors Plat "Gr'
be raised from $375.00 to $400.00; the appraisergent on the East
45 feet of North 90 feet Lot 24, Surveyors Plat "G" be raised
from $375.00 to $500.00; and that the'appraisement on the South
45 feet of North 180 feet of Lot 24, Surveyors Plat "G" be re-
duced from $375.00 to $350.00.
Commissioner Campbell moved that the appraisers report
for the excavating, grading and paving of Ash Street from the
east line of Ash Street Bridge to the east line o— i-Ua-"kdale
Avenue be adopted as amended. Motion adopted.
The appraisers report for the excavating, grading and
paving of Elm Street from the east line of -Third Street to
the west 11ne rof Frorit Street was taken up and read as follows:

Commissioner Campbell moved that the appraisement on Lot
Nine (9), County Park be reduced from $600.00 to $500.00; and
that the angaisement on Lot Six (6), County Park, be raised from
$500.00 to 00,00. Motion adopted.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the appraisers report
for the excavating, grading and paving of Elm Street from the east
line of Third Street to the west line of Front—tree be adopted
as amended. Motion adopted.
The appraisers report for the curbing, guttering, excavating,
grading and paving of Elm Street from the west line of Front
Street to the west side of fH5 m Street Bridge was taken up
and read as follows:

assessment cor the cost of curbing, guttering, excavating, grading
and paving Penn Avenue from the north line of Elm Street to River-
side Boulevard as more a particularly described and provided far
in Ordinance Number 2572 of the City of Salina; and that each of
