NOV_ __:MBER 27th , 1922. _ Board of Commissioners met in regular session, Rovember 27th, 1922. I:Ieeting Teras called to order by 1, yor Dyar, the roll �,,ras called and Commissioners Campbell, Dyar and. Tiargett and City Attorney Buzick responded. The minutes of the Regular Iteeting of November 20th, 1922 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced entitled.: "An ordinance making appropriation for the poyment of a certain claim." On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had.; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar and Hargett (3) Trays: (0) The I11ayor approved the same and is numbered 2620. An ordinance eras introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim." On motion of Commissioner Hargett the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll ;.as called and the following; vote eras had; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar and Hargett (3) Nays: (0) TI-Je Mayor approved the same and is numbered 2621. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the condemnation and appropriation of certain lots, tracts and T:ieces of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas for the purpose of opening and el.tending Tenth Street in said City, from the south line of Frost Street there- in -to the north line of Republic Avenue, and providing for the appointment of appraisers therefor." On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar and Hargett (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 2622. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the condemnation and appropriation of certain lots, tracts and pieces of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas for the purpose of opening Frost Street in said City between Sherman Street and ITTinth Street therein and pro- viding for the appointment of appraisers therefor." On motion of Commissioner Hargett the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar and Hargett (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 2623. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: ''An ordinance providing for the condemnation and appropriation of certain lots, tracts and pieces of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas for the purpose of widening Republic Avenue in the City of Salina, Kansas between Ninth street and Sherman Street therein, and providing for the appointment of appraisers therefor." On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll v,as called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar and Hargett. (3) Nays: (0) The i.tayor aproved the same and is numbered 2624. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitledt "An ordinance providing for the condemnation and appropriation of certain lots, tracts and pieces of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas for the purpose of npdning-Sherman Street in said City from the south line of Crawford TreeE-to the north line of republic Avenue therein and providing for the appoint- ment of appraisers therefor." D 1 On motion of Commissioner Hargett the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; lyes: Campbell, Dyar and Hargett (3) Nays: (0) The 1klayor approved the same and is numbered 2625. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the condemnation and appropriation of certain lots, tracts and pieces of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas for the purpose of opening and extending Eleventh Street in said City from Crayford Street to republic avenue and providing for the appointment of appraisers therefor." On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar anal. Hargett (3) Nays: (0) The TJayor approved the same and is numbered 2626. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the condemnation and appropriation of certain lots, tracts and pieces of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas for the purpose of opening Franklin Street in said City between Sherman Street and plinth Street therein, and providing for the appointment of appraisers therefor." On motion of Commissioner Hargett the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar and Hargett (3) Nays: (0) The 11ayor approved the same and is numbered 2627. The following resolution was introduced .for second reading: BE IT RESOI.VED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, that the curbing, guttering, excavating, grading and. paving of Crawford Avenue in the City of Salina, Kansas from the west line of -Tien -E S reet to the west line of Ninth Street in said City, be and the same is 7-ereby determined to be a necessary improvement, and that said Crawford -venue in the City of Salina, Kansas be curbed, guttered, excavated, graded and raved within the limits above defined. Campbell, Dyar and Hargett (3) Nays: (0) I15 l 1� I } The following resolution was introduced for second read- ing: LIE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the j City of Salina, Kansas that the curbing, guttering, excavating, grading and paving of Jewell Avenue in the City of Salina, Kansas from the west line of SanEa Fe Avenue to the east line of ninth Street in said City, be and the same is hereby determined to be a necesc-ary improvement, and that said Jewell avenue in the City_ of Salina, Kansas be curbed, guttered, excavated, graded and paved within the ;imits above defined. On motion of Commissioner Campbell the resolution was adopted and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar and Hargett (3) Nays: (0) City Engineer submitted recommendations for the construc- tion of certain sewers and water mains in advance of the proposed spring paving. Same were referred to the City 11'anager. The appraisers reports for the curbing, guttering, ex- cavating, grading and paving of: Elm Street from Front Street to Elm Street Bridge; Elm Street from Elm Street Bridge to Ohio Street; Eleventh Street from Iron Avenue to State Street; Twelfth Street from State Street to Ash Street; Penn Avenue from Elm Street to Riverside Boulevard, and for the excavating, grading and paving of: elm Street from Third Street to Front Street; Ash Street from Ash Street Bridge to Oakdale Avenue, also for the curbing and guttering of: Johnstown Avenue from Front Street to Oakdale Avenue, were received, and on motion of Commissioner Campbell, Iaonday, December 11th, 1922 at 7:30 otclock P. M. was designated as a special meeting at which time the appraisers reports will be taken up and acted upon by the Board of Commissioners, and all persons affected by such improvements can be rresent and heard if they so desire; also that the City Clerk give notice in the official City paper as provided by law. A petition was received asking for the curbing;, guttering, excavating, grading and paving of Charles Street from Ninth Street to Eleventh Street. Same was referred fo the City ?Manager. A petition was received asking for the curbing, guttering, excavating, grading and pavinF of Eleventh Street from Charles Street to Crawford Avenue. Same was re erred to the City Mana- ger.
