Board of Commissioners met in regular session, November
20th, 1922. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Dyar, the
roll was called and Commissioners Campbell, Dyar and Hargett
and City Attorney Buzick responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 13th,
1922 were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance mak-
ing appropriations for miscellaneous purposes."
On motion of Commissioner Hargett the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final_ adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Cam, -')bell. Dyar
and Hargett (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and
is numbered 2616.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and onits final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar
and hargett (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is
numbered 2617.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance mak-
ing an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim."
On Motion of Commissioner Hargett the ordinance was 'read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar
and Hargett (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved tiie same and is
numbered 2618.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance prohibiting the use of wooden 'runways or culverts
attached to the curb and projecting into the street and on the
pavement or along any public street or thoroughfare of the City
of Salina, Kansas and providing a penalty for the violation
thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the folio ,Ing vote was had; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar
and Hargett (3) Nays: (0) The IT-ayor approved the same and
is numbered 2619.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the condemnation and appropriation
of certain lots, tracts and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina, Kansas for the purpose of opening i,'rost Street in said
City between Sherman Street and Ninth Street therein and pro-
viding for the appointment of appraisers therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the condemnation and appropriation
of certain lots, tracts and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina'. Kansas for the purpose of opening Sherman Street in said
City from the south line of Crawford Street to the north line of
Republic Avenue therein and providing; for the appointment of ap-
-oraisers therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.

An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the condemnation and appropriation
of certain lots, tracts and pieces sof ground in the City of
Salina, Kansas for -the purpose of widening republic Avenue in
the City of Salina, Kansas between Ninth Street and Sherman Street
therein, and providing for the appointment of appraisers there-
for."
On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the condemnation and appropriation
of certain lots, tracts and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina,,ansas for the purpose of opening and extending Tenth
Street in said City from the south line of Frost Street therein
to the north line of Republic Avenue, and providing for the appoint-
ment of appraisers therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the condemnation and appropriation of
certain lots, tracts and pieces of ground in the City of Salina,
Kansas for the purpose of opening Franklin Street in said City be-
tyeen Sherman and Ninth Street therein and providing for the ap-
pointment of appraisers therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced. for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the condemnation and, appropration of
certain lots, tracts and pieces of ground in the City of Salina,
Kansas for the purpose of opening and extending Eleventh Street in
said City from Crawford Street to republic Avenue and providing for
the appointment of appraisers therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
A petition was received asking- for the curbing, guttering
and paving of Crayford Avenue from ninth Street to Tenth Street.
A resolution was introduced for first reading providing for
the curbing, guttering, excavating, Erading and paving of Crawford -
Avenue from the wrest line of Ninth Street to the west line of
Tenth Street.
On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced for first reading providing for
the curbing, guttering, excavating, grading and. paving of Claflin
Avenue from the west line of Santa Fe Avenue to the west line of
Ii' gi- M -and Avenue.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced for first reading providing; for
the curbing, guttering:, excavating, grading and. paving of Jewell
Avenue from the west line of Santa Fe Avenue to the east line of
NintFi 'Street.
On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
City Manager, VU. A. Layton, appointed Chas. Cordonier as
Special Police at the Western Star Ulill, without pay from City,
and on motion of Commissioner Hargett the appointment was con-
firmed.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell, Board. of Commiss-loners
adjourned.
