Board of Commissioners met in regular session, November
13th, 1922. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Dyar, the
roll was called and Commissioners Campbell, Dyar and Hargett
and City Attorney Buzick responded.
The minutes of the regular 1eeting of November 6th, 1922
were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance mak-
ing an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read
and adopted b;4, sections and. on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar
and Hargett (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is
numbered 2614.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance amending Section One (1) of Ordinance Number 2477
passed and approved March 27th, 1922 and repealing such original
section."
On motion of Commissioner Hargett the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote 4?as had; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar
and Hargett (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is
numbered 2615.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance prohibiting the use of wooden runways or culverts
attached to the curb and projecting into the street and on the
pavement or along any public street or thoroughfare of the City
of Salina, Kansas and providing; a peanalty for the violation
thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
A petition was received asking; for the construction of a
sidewalk on the north side of Crawford Avenue from Ninth Street
to alley between Ninth and Tenth Street to connec t with walk
west of alley. Same was referred to the City R.lanager.
A petition was received asking for the paving of Jewell
Avenue from Santa Fe Avenue to Ninth Street. Same was referred
to the City Manager.
City 14anager, W. A. Layton, submitted the name of Paul
Martin as Special Police, and on motion of Commissioner Campbell
the appointment was confirmed.
City Manager, ua. A. Layton, submitted the name of L. H.
Hammond as Special Police at Holmquist Hall, and on motion of
Commissioner Hargett the appointment was confirmed.
11r. T. L. Bond appeared before the Board of Commissioners and
asked for a special permit for The Economy Oil Company to con-
struct a corrugated iron building on North seventh Street,
On motion, special permit was granted.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell, Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
