JUNE 26th, 1922.
Board of Commissioners met in regular session, June 26th,
1922. heeting was called to order by Acting Ilayor Hargett, the
roll was called and Commissioners Campbell_ and Hargett and City
Attorney Buzick responded. Mayor Dyar absent.
The minutes of the regular Meetirg of June 19th, 1922
were 'read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City
of Salina, Kansas, to pay the cost ob building and constructing
a lateral sanitary sewer in Lateral Se�rrer District Dumber 1-A
in said City, and relating to and providing for the collection
and payment of such assessments."
On :motion of Co;mnissioner Campbell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the follo„;Ting vote was had; Ayes: Campbell and
Hargett. (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Dyar absent. Time ordi-
nance was duly approved and is numbered 2511.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
rrAn ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City
of Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of building and constructing
a lateral sanitary sewer in Lateral Sewer District Number 3-11
in said City, and relating to and providing for the collection
and payment of such assessments.”
On motion of Commiss_oner Campbell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; ayes: Campbell and
Hargett (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Dyar absent. The ordi-
nance was duly approved and is numbered 2512.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City
of Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of building and constructing
a lateral sanitary sewer in Latral Sewer District Dumber 1-C
in said City and relating to and providing for the collection
and payment of such assessments."
On motion of Coimnissioner Campbell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the fpllowing vote was had; Ayes. Campbell and
Hargett (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Dyar absent. The ordi-
nance was duly approved and is numbeped 2513.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City
of Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of bW.lding and constructing
a lateral sanitary sewer in Lateral Sevier District Number 2-C
in said City and relating to and providing for the collection
and payment of such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell° and
Hargett (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Dyar absent. The ordi-
nance was duly approved and is numbered 2514.

On motion of Commissioner Campbell. the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the followin vote was had; Ayes: Campbell and
Hargett (2) Nays: (0 Commissioner Dyar absent. The ordi-
nance was duly approved and is numbered 2516.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and. apportioning and levying spedial
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of building and constructing a
lateral sanitary sewer in Lateral Sevier District Number 1-"
in said City and relating to and providing for the collection
and payment of such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell and
Hargett (2 ) ways: (0) Commissioner Dyar absent. The ordi-
nance was duly approved and is numbered 2517.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of building and -constructing a
lateral sanitary sewer in Lateral Sewer District Number 2-h
in said City and relating to and providing for the collection
and payment of such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell and
Hargett (2) Nays: (0) C07Mnissioner Dyar absent. The ordi-

An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitied:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special

Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of building and constructing a
lateral sanitary sewer in Lateral Sewer District 1'4umber 4 -1 -
in said City and relating to and providing for the collection
and payment of such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read

An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of building and constructing a
lateral sanitary sewer in Lateral Server District Number 1-V
in said City and relating to and providing for the collection
and payment of such assessments.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was
read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll
was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell
and Hargett (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Dyar absent. The
ordinance was duly approved and is numbered 2521.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of building and constructina

in said City and relating to and providing for the collection
and payment of such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was

An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:

in said City and relating to and providing for the collection

On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was

and payment of such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was
read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the
roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Camp-

The ordinance was duly approved and is numbered 2525.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance amending Section Three (3) of Ordinance Dumber
1976 of the City of Salina and repealing said original section."
On motion of Cormiissioner Campbell the ordinance was
read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the
roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell,
and Hargett (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Dyar absent. The
ordinance was duly approved and is numbered 2526.

proved June 5th, 1922."

City of Salina, Kansas that The Salina 'tater '.forks Company be
and it is hereby instructed and ordered to lay and install a.
six-inch water main, with water hydrants located as directed
by the Fire Chief of said City, from the end of its present
main at the intersection of Crawford 1�venue and 11inth Street
thence south on ninth Street to Bond Street.
Introduced for first reading, June 19th, 10-22.
Adopted and approved, June 26th, 12-22.

Commissioner Campbell moved that the resolution be
adopted as read and on roll call motion vuas adopted by the fol -
!owing vote; Ayes' Campbell and Aargett (2) Nays: (0)
Commissioner Dyar absent.
Taylor Miller appeared before the Commissioners and asked
for a special permit to construct a 12 x 20 corrugated iron
building on east Ash Street, east of F-Ifth Street.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance vacating and siscontinuing a certain alley in the
grounds of the Kansas ,:,esleyan University Addition to the City
of Salina, Kansas.'
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was
read and adopted. br sections and on its final adoption the roll
was called and the following vote was had: Ayes: Campbell_ and
Hargett (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Dyar absent. The ordi-
nance was duly approved and is numbered. 2528.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance mak-
ing an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read
and adopted b1,7 sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the follows vote was had; Ayes: Campbell and
Hargett (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Dyar absent. The
ordinance was duly approved and is numbered 2529.

The construction bond of the Cassell Electric Company- for
the electrical wiring and electrical apparatus in the "'emorial
Hall Building i,�as received and on motion of Commissioner Camp-
bell same was accepted and ordered filed.
A communication from Tom S. Howell, leader of the Salina
Municipal Band, submitting a cancellation of band contract was
received and on motion of Commissioner Campbell same was ordered
filed.
Bids for the concession privileges in Kenwood lark during
the aumotobile races of July 4th, 1922 were received from:
T. Marion Crawford, X 150.00
Coca Cola Bottling Company, �'p88.00
Commissioner Campbell moved that the privilege be awarded
to T. Iviarion Crawford as per his offer.

City Manager VT. A. Layton submitted a written report on
remonstrance protesting against the curbing, guttering, exca-
vating and paving of:
Elm Street from Elm Street Bridge to ")hio Street;
Elm Street from Ninth Street to College Avenue;
Penn Avenue from Ash Street to Elm Street; and
Third Street From Walnut Street to mulberry Street.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same were ordered
filed.
Application for Junk Dealers License was received from
Ben Katz.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell a six months license
was granted.
City r.-lanager, V1. A. Layton was instructed to notify The
Salina Street Railway Company to re -place pavement in first-
class condition that had been removed at different times for
repairing their tracks.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
