Board of Commissioners met in regular session, Monday-,
June 19th, 1922. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Dyar, `
the roll was called and Commissioners Campbell, Dyar and Iar-
Fett and Acting City Attorney Norris responded. City Attorney
Buzick absent.
The minutes of the regular meeting of June 12th, 1922, were
read and approved as read..
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "4n ordinance mak-
ing appropriations for miscellaneous purposes.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell, the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar
and 4argett. (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and
is numbered 2508.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and. levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Sa1_ina$ Kansas to pay the cost of excavating; and paving State
Street in said City from the west line of Ninth Street to ther
east line of College Avenue, (except the intersections of Tenth
Street and Phillips Street which are already paved,) in said City
and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of
such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner rlargett the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar and Har-
gett. (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is num-
bered 2509.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina. Kansas, to pay the cost of curbing, guttering, excavating
and paving Eleventh Streetin said City from the north line of State
Street to the sDuth line of Ash Street in said City, and relat-
ing to and providing for the collection and payment of such assess-
ments."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar and
Hargett. (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is
numbered 2510.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance repealing Ordinance Number 2505 passed and approved June
5th, 1922."
On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: *"An
ordinance amending Section Three (3) of Ordinance Number 1976 of
the City of Salina and. repealing said original section."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
it An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
An ordinance vacating and discontinuing a certain alley in the
grounds of the Kansas Wesleyan University Addition to the City of
Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.

the Board of Commissioners.

"An ordinance relating to and,apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of building and constructinga
lateral sanitary sewer in Lateral Sewer District slumber 1 -
in said City, and relating to and providing for the collection
and payment of such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.

Salina, Kansas, to pay the cost of building and constructing a
lateral sanitary sewer in Lateral Sewer District number 2-C

On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:

assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of building and constructing a

in said City, and relating to and providing for the collection

the Board of Commissioners.

On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.

and payment of such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.

On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to

On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City
of Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of building and constructing
a lateral sanitary sewer in Lateral Sewer District Number 3-F
in said City, and relating to and providing for the collection
and payment of such assessments."
Un motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City
of Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of building and constructing
a lateral sanitary sewer in Lateral Sewer District Dumber 1-G
in said City, and relating to and providing for the collection
and payment of such assessments."
On .motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.

An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City
of Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of building and constructing
a lateral sanitary sewer in Lateral Sewer District Number 2-G
in said City, and relating to and providing for the collection
and payment of such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced for first reading providing
for the installation of a six-inch water main on Ninth Street
from Crawford Avenue to Bond Street.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
City Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids for the
construction of certain sidewalks that have not been constructed
by property owners in accordance with Ordinances numbered 2408,
2478 and 2486; said bids to be received up to and including
July 3rd, 1922.
The appraisers report for the opening and extending of
Johnstown Avenue from Ohio Avenue to Kansas Avenue was presented
and read.
City Manager appointed Joseph Fisher as special police
at the Masonic Temple Building, and on motion of Commissioner
Hargett appointment was confirmed.
City Manager appointed Arthur Fagerstrom as driver of the
street sprinkler, and on motion of Commissioner Campbell the ap-
pointment was confirmed.
An agreement signed by Boney Bonebrake, in reference to the
management of the Municipal Golf Links in Kenwood t'ark was pre-
sented, and on motion of Commissioner Campbell same was accepted.
City Manager stated t -Hat the regular monthly meeting of the
City employees will be held Friday night, June 23rd, 10,22 at
7:30 otclock P. M.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell Board of Commissioners
adjourned.

On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was approved and
ordered filed.
A remonstrance was presented protesting against the exca-
vating and paving of Third Street from 17alnut Street to Mulberry
Street. Same was referred to the City Manager.
A petition signed by A. L. Rinard and 40 others was present-
ed, asking for the installation of a "I',Th.ite V'day Ash Street
on from
Seventh Street to r2welfth Street, thence north on Tnelfth Street
to Bishop Street. Same was received and placed. on file.
The bond of the Peterson Construction Company for the
construction of the Memorial Hall Building was presented, and on
motion of Commissioner Hargett same was accepted and ordered
filed.
The bond of the City Plumbing Company for the plumbing,
heating and ventilation in the Memorial Hall Building was pre-
sented, and on motion of Commissioner Campbell same was accetped
and ordered filed.
