Board of Commissioners met in regular session, Monday,
June 12th, 1922. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Dyar,
the roll was called and Commissioners Campbell, Dyar and Ilargett
and City At torney Buzick responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 5th 1x22;
Adjourned Meeting of June 7th, 1922; and Adjourned "leeting of
June 8th, 1922; were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots.and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina, Kansas, to pay the cost of excavating; and paving State
Street in said City from the west line of Ninth Street to-the�`
east ne of College Avenue, (except the intersections of Tenth
Street and Phillips Street which are already paved), in said
City and relating to and providing for the collection and payment
of such assessments."
On motion same was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading; entitled:
"An Ordinance relating; to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City
of Salina, Kansas, to pay the cost of curbing, guttdring, exca-
vating and paving Eleventh Street in said City from the north
line of State Street to the south line of Ash Street in said
City, and relating to and providing; for the collection and pay-
ment of such assessments*
On motion same was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
City Ehgineer submitted an estimate on certain sanitary
sewers that had been completed.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was accepted.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "Ar_ ordinance mak-
ing an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar
and Hargett. (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and
is numbered 2507.
City Manager, W. A. Layton, submitted the name of Art
Wilson as special police at the 11asonic Temple Building, and on
motion of Commissioner Campbell the appointment was confirmed.
A petition signed by A. H. King and two others was present-
ed, asking for the vacation of the alley between Republic liven-
ue and Beloit Avenue running west from Santa Fe Avenue, located
between Lots 5 and 7 in the Grounds of the Kansas Viesleyan.
Same was referred to the City Manager.
On motion, City Clerk was instructed to receive bids for
the concession privileges in Kenwood Park during the automobile
races of July 4th, 1922; said bids to be received up to and
including June 26th, 1922 at six otclock P. TI.
City Engineer made a report on the remonstrance against
the curbing, guttering, excavating and paving of:
Elm Streot from Elm Street Bridge to Ohio 1ivenue;
Elm Street from Ninth Street to College Avenue;
Penn 7�venuefrom -ish Street to Elm Street.
On motion the report was referred back to have an abstract
made of the property owners.

adiourned.
