04-10-1922 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR METING. I COVd,,1ISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. _ APRIL 10th, 1922. w Board of Commissioners met in regular session, Monday April 10th, 1922. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Dyar, the roll was called and Commissioners Campbell, Dyar and Har- gett and City Attorney Buzick responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 3rd, 1922, _ were read and approved as read. j An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance i making an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim." On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the ` roll was called and the following vote was had: Ayes: Camp- bell, Dyar and Hargett (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 2485. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the construction of certain side- walks in the City of Salina, Kansas." I On motion of Commissioner Hargett the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vot� was had; Ayes: Camp- bell, Dyar and Hargett. (3) Nays: 0) The mayor approved { the same and is numbered 2486. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the construction of certain sewers in the City of Salina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Camp- bell, Dyar and Hargett (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 2487. j I City Engineer submitted plans and specifications for the construction of certain sanitary and storm sewers, and on moition of Commissioner Hargett the same were adopted and approved by the Board of Commissioners and the City Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids to be received up to and I including Thursday, April 20th, 1922 at 7 o'clock P. M. City Engineer submitted plans and specifications for the I j curbing, guttering, excavating and paving of: Republic Avenue from the east line of Fifth Street to j the east line of Santa Fe Avenue; { Bond Street from the west line of Fifth Street to the i east line of Santa Fe Avenue; and Crawford Avenue from the west line of Fifth Street to the epst line of Santa -Fe- Avenue. On motion of Commissioner Campbell same were adopted and i approved by the Board of Commissioners and the City Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids to be received up to and in- cluding April 20th, 1922, at 7 o'clock P. M. A request for the use of The Salina Municipal nand for the convention of The American Legion Auxiliary to be held in Salina, April 17th and 18th, 1922; also for the opening of The _ Southwestern Base Ball League, May 2nd, 1922, was received. I Commissioner Hargett moved that the leader of said band be authorized to have concerts on the above mentioned dates. A surety bond in the amount of §10,000 from the Farmers National Bank of Salina, Kansas was received, and Commissioner Campbell moved that the same be accepted and ordered filed. 210' A maintenance bond from the Smith -Graham Construction Company for the maintenance of paving awarded March 3rd, 1922 was received, and on motion of Commissioner Hargett same was received and ordered filed. The Free Methodist Episcopal Church of Salina, Kansas, asked for the use of Claflin Hall in Oakdale Park, July 20th to 30th inclusive, 1922 for their revival meetings. On motion of Commissioner Campbell the request was grant- ed. The quarterly report of the City Clerk, showing the fi- nancial condition of the City of Salina for the quarter ending March 31st, 1922, was presented, and on motion of Commissioner Hargett same was received and ordered filed. A petition signed by Elmer Williams and three other citi- zens., asking for the extension of water main on Spruce Street from College Avenue to the Missouri Pacific Railway was received and referred to the City Manager. , r On motion of Commissioner Hargett, Board of Commission- ers adjourned.
