01-30-1922 MinutesCOMM1ISSIOh7_4IRS PROCEEDINGS Commissioners Room, Salina, Kansas. January 30th, 1922. Board of Commissioners met in regular session, January 30th, 1922. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Dyar, the roll was called and Commissioners Campbellq Dyar and Hargett responded. City Attorney Buzick absent from the City on legal business. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 23rx, 1922, were read and approved as read. "An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance mak- ing appropriations for miscellaneous purposes." On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar and Hargett. (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 2437. 1 The following resolution ryas introduced for first read- ing: "For paving College Avenue from south line of Walnut Street to north line of South Street." On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. A proposition was received from the International harvest- er Company to supply the City with a chassis for the Fire De- partment in the sum of 42150.00. Commissioner Hargett moved that the proposition be ac- cepted and that the Mayor and City Clerk be authroized to enter into a contract with the above named company for the purchase of said. chassis. Commissioner Campbell moved that the International Harvest- er Company be authorized to equip the tires of the new chassis with Tulsa Compression Tubes at an additional cost of '111.20 Several communications were presented and read by the City Clerk. On motion, same were ordered filed. The matter was discussed as to the advisability of in- stalling a telephone at the building on the City Dump Grounds. City Clerk was instructed to correspond with the Company and ascertain the cost of same. J. T. Lindenmuth, who lives at 215 North Olive Street, appeared before the Commissioners and asked to rent a small tract of ground along the Dry Creek dike for garden purposes. Commissioners decided to take the matter under advisement and have the ownership of said tract investigated. John Spaeth appeared before the Commissioners and protest- ed against the construction of a sewer in the alley between Tenth and Eleventh Streets, from Lincoln Avenue to Grand Avenue. The matter was taken under advisement by the Commission - ers. A petition asking for the installation of an are light at the interveetion of Ellsworth and Fourth, was received and referred to the City Maneger. A petition asking for the construction of a sewer on Clark Street, south from University to Talnut Street was received and referred to the City Manager. On motion of Commissioner Campbell, Board of Commission- ers adjourned. City Clerk.
