Board of Commissioners met in regular session, Itonday, December 19th, 1921. Iaeeting was called to order by Mayor Dyar, the roll was called and Commissioners Campbell, Dyar and Hargett responded. City Attorney Buzick absent. The minutes of the regular meeting of December 12th, 1921, were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance mak- ing appropriations for miscellaneous purposes." On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar and FIargett. (3) Nays: (0) The Ilayor approved the same and is numbered 2416. The following resolution was introduced for second reading: BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Co mm.issioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, that the following banks be and the same are hereby designated as depositories for the public moneys of the City of Salina, Kansas: Farniea s National Bank, National Bank of America, Planters State Bank, Reserve State Bank. Banker -, On motion of Commissioner Hargett the resolution was adopted as read by the following vote: Ayes: Campbell, Dyar and Hargett. (3) Nays: (0) A communication was received from The International Harvester Company asking for a special permit to re -build their service station that .,,ras recently destroyed by fire. Commissioner Hargett moved that a special permit be granted. J. F. Corder appeared before the Commissioners and pre- sented a petition from property oviners protesting against the widening of Fifth Street from Walnut Street to Ash Street. A request was received from the Good Samaritans Associ- ation asking for permission to solicit funds on the streets of the City of Salina. The matter was referred to the Chief of Police. J. H. Asbury of the Blue Seal Company of Denver, appeared before the Commissioners and submitted the City a proposition for one car of Blue Seal Ooal at Y3.50 per ton, F. U. B. at the mine,, _ Commissioner Campbell moved that the City purchase one car of the above named coal. Commissioner Hargett moved that the Comnissioners adjourn until five o'clock P.
