COMMISSIONERS ROOM
SALINA, KANSAS,
DECEMBER 5, 1921.
Board of Commissioners met in regular session,
Monday, December 5th, 1921. Meeting was called to order
by Mayor Dyar, the roll was called and Commissiorers
Campbell, Dyar and Hargett and City Attorney Buzick re-
sponded.
The minutes of the regular meeting of november 28th,
10.21, were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance
making; appropriations for miscellaneous purposes."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance
was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption
the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Campbell, Dyar and Hargett. (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor
approved the same and is numbered 2415.
Application for Pool Hall License from J. E. Badger
for the operation of a pool hall at 340 North Santa Fe
Avenue and one at 129 South Santa Fe Avenue .^,ras received.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell said licenses
were granted.
Fire Chief reported that the Anderson Fire Truck
was out of Commission by reason of having the crank shaft
broeken.
Commissioner Campbell moved that the City 1,1anager
take up the matter of having repairs made, also to corre-
spond with various companies with reference to having a
larger engine installed, and to secure a truck to be used
by the Fire Department until the repairs have been mad e
on the regular truck.
City Attorney Buzick reported on the claim of E.F.
Houghton, stating that the City would be in no way liable
for damage done to Mr. Houghton's car by rea�lon of having
been run into by the Police car.
A petition was received asking for the widening of
the pavement on Fifth Street from Walnut Street to Ash
Street, by constructing a new curb four feet in on the
sidewalk portion and construct a four foot cement gutter
on each side of the street.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell petition was
referred to the City Attorney for the drafting_ of the
proper resolution.
Commissioner Hargett moved that the Superintendent
of Streets put up signs on Ash Street and z/alnut Street
between Seventh Street and Santa Fe Avenue, notifying;
automobile drivers to park their cars parallel with the
curb on said streets.
On motion of Commissioner Hargett, Board of Com-
missioners adjourned.
