Commissioners Proceedings
Commmissioners Room,
Salina, Kansas.
October 24th, 1921
Board of Commissioners met in regular session, Ivionday,
October 24th, 1921. Eeeting was called to order by Ivlayor
Dyar, the roll was called and Commissioners Campbell, Dyar
and Hargett and City Attorney Buzick responded.
The minutes of the regular -meeting of October 17th,
1921s were read and approved as read.
The claim of R. D. Stockton, in the amount of 5?15.75
for damage to car, by reason of driving into a rope stretched
across the entrance to the race track in Kenwood Park, 6ep-
tember 4th, 1921, was presented.
Commissioner Campbell moved that the same be disallowed.
Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading, en-
titled: "An ordinance regulating the laying and construc-
tion of water service pipes, gas service pipes and sewers
on streets in the City of Salina, Kansas, where paving has

been ordered in and providing for the payment of the same.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was
read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the
roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Campbell, Dyar and Hargett. (3) Nays: (0) The Vayor
approved the same and is numbered 2410.
The following resolution was introduced for second
reading:
BE IT RESOLVED, by The board of Commissioners of
the City of Salina, Kansas, that the excavating, grading,
and paving of State Street in the City of Salina, Kansas,
from the ,,rest line of Ninth Street to the east line of
College Avenue in said City, except the intersection of
Tenth Street and Phillips Street, which have already been
paved, are each and all improvements necessary to be made
and done, and be it further resolved that said State Street
be excavated, graded and paved within the limits above de-
fined.
Passed and approved, October 24th., 1921.

Commissioner Campbell_ moved. that the resolution be
adopted as read, and on roll call was adopted by the follow-
ing vote: Ayes: Cambpell, Dyar and Hargett. (3) Nays: (0)
The following resolution was in trodiiced for first
reading ; "For a tyro -inch domestic service pipe from pres-
ent mains at the intersection of Highland and Claflin 21ven-
ues, thence south along Highland 360 feet."
On motion of Commissioner IT
largett same was referred
to the Board of Commissioners.
City Engineer was instructed to prepare plans and
specifications and submit the same to the State Board of
Health for the following list of sewers:
Alley between Highland Avenue and Ninth Street
from Ciaflin avenue to Cloud Avenue;
Alley between Tenth Street and Eleventh Street
from Lincoln Avenue to Grand Avenue;
Alley between Beloit t'lvenue and Minneapolis tjvenue
from Fourth Street to Osborne Street;
University Place from a point east of the 1�11issouri
Pacific Railway to alley west of Chicago Street; also in _
alleys running north and south in Blocks 7, 4 and 13, Leav-
enworth Addition;
Alley between Oakdale Avenue and Front Street, com-
mencing in alley south of Park Place thence south about
250 feet;
Alley between Seventh Street and Eighth Street, from
Lincoln Avenue to Grand Avenue;
On Kansas Avenue aDuth of Iron Avenue 550 feet;
Alley between State Street and Ash Street from Iiiis-
souri Pacific Railway to Olive Street.
The matter of renting stalls in Oakdale Park was
discussed by the Commissioners.
Commissioner Hargett moved that the City charge 42.00
per month for each stall and that the City do the clean-
ing up of the stalls.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell, board of Commis-
