COTAMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS
Commissioners Room,
Salina, Kansas.
October 17, 1921.
Board of Commissioners met.in regular session, Mondays
October 17th, 1921. Meeting was called to order by Mayor
Dyar, the roll was called and Commissioners Campbell, Dyar and
Hargett and City Attorney Buzick responded.
The minutes of the regular meeting of October 10th,
1921, were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance mak-
ing appropriations for miscellaneous purposes."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was
read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the
roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Camp-
bell, Dyar and Hargett. (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved
the same and is numbered 2409.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance regulating the laying and construction of water
service pipes, gas service pipes and sewers on streets in
the City of Salina, Kansas, where paving has been ordered in
and providing for the payment of the same."
On motion of Commissioner Camrbell same was referred
to the Board of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled:
"Providing for the excavating, grading and paving of State
Street from Ninth Street to College Avenue."
On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to ---
the Board of Commissioners.
Incandescent light at the corner of Charles Street
and Phillips Street was reported that same had not been burn-
ing for some time.
City Clerk was instructed to notify The Salina Light,
Power & Gas Company to remedy same at once.
City Engineer, VVm. Theisner, submitted a detailed report
and recommendations for certain improvements. Same was re- t
ceived and ordered filed.
Recommendation for improvement on North Penn Avenue in
front of Chas. Johnsons property was taken up and the City
Engineer was instructed to have the work done as soon as pos-
sible.
Also drainage on the southwest corner of Spruce Street
and College Avenue was taken up, and the City Engineer was
instructed to have the necessary improvements done as soon as
possible.
Mayor Dyar appointed Theo. P. Worsley, and Y. C. Stev-
enson as members of the Board of Directors of The Gypsum Hill
Cemetery for a term of three ,years.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the appointments
were confirmed.
A petition was received asking for the extension of
White ti°,ay on Iron Avenue from the Iron Avenue Bridge to Front
Street; also a petition asking for the extension of White Way
on Iron Avenue from Front Street to Delaware Avenue. Same
were received and ordered filed.
City Clerk was instructed to notify Chas. A. Baier to
remove the rocks that are stored on the end of Second Street,
south of Iron Avenue, on the banks of the Smoky Hill River
at once.
On motion of Commissioner Hargett, Board of Commission-
ers adjourned.
