10-03-1921 Minutes9i0PGG 1 1 1 Commissioners Proceedings Commissioners Room, Salina, Kansas. October 3rd, 1921. Board of Commissioners met in regular session, Mon- day, October 3rd, 1921. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Dyar, the roll was called and Commissioners Camp- bell, Dyar and Hargett and City Attorney Buziek respond- ed. The minutes of the regular meeting of September 26th, 1921, were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An -ordi- nance making appropriations for miscellaneous purposes." On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adop- tion the roll was called and the following vote was had: Ayes: Campbell, Dyar and Hargett. (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 2406. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordi- nance regulating the construction of sidewalks in the City of Salina, Kansas, determining and declaring the plans, specifications and materials to be used in the laying and construction of the same, providing a pehalty for the violation thereof and repealing all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith" and same !eras declared an emergency measure. On motion of Commissioner Hargett the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar and Hargett. (3•) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is number : -d 2407. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitied: "An ordinance providing for the construction of certain sidewalk in the City of Salina, Kansas." i On motion, same was referred to the Board of Com- missioners. Mayor Dyar appointed F. I". Sefton and Chas. E. Banker, as delegates to the Convention of The League of Kansas Municipalities, to be held at Lawrence, Kansas, October 12th, 13th and 14th, 1921. Mayor Dyar instructed the City Clerk to prepare a proclamation designating, October 10th, 1921, as "Fire Prevention Day." Mayor Dyar informed the Commissioners that he in- tends to issue a proclamation declaring November 11th, "Armistice Day" as a legal holiday. A petition was received asking for the location of an incandescent light on Des Moines Avenue between Ash Street and Elm Street. Same was referred to the City Manager. A petition was received asking for the construction of a sewer in the alley between Highland Avenue and Ninth Street, from Claflin Avenue to Cloud. Same was referred to the City Manager. On motion of Commissioner Campbell, Board of Com- missioners adjourned. City Clerk.
