Special Called Meeting of the Board of Commission-
ers., June 28th, 1921, for the purpose of considering
and adopting a certain resolution appertaining to the
Memorial Hall Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas. Meet-
ing was called to order by Mayor Dyar and Commissioners
Campbell and Dyar and City Attorney Buzick responded to
roll call. Commissioner Hargett absent from the State.

The request and call for meeting was read as fol-
lows:

You are hereby requested to call the City Commis-
sioners to meet at the City Hall, June 28th, 1921 at eight
o1clock P. M. for the purpose of holding a session of the
y Board of Commissioners for considering and adopting a cer-
tain resolution appertaining to the Memorial Hall Bonds
of the City of Salinas Kansas.

A special meeting of the Board of Commissioners of
said City is hereby called for the hour of eight o'clock
P. M. on Tuesday, June 28th, 1921, for the purpose of
transacting official business and of considering and
adopting a certain resolution appertaining to the re-sign-
ing, sealing and registering of certain bonds of said
City commonly known as "Memorial Hall Bonds," said meet-
ing being hereby called pursuant to the notice of a majority
of the members of said Board of Commissioners of concur-
rent date herewith, requesting the same.

To the Board of Commissioners,
City of Salina, Kansas.
You are hereby requested to consider and finally
Pass a certain resolution providing for the re-signing,
sealing and registering of certain bonds of the City of
Salina, commonly known as "Memorial Hall Bonds", said
action to be finally taken on this date and upon the first
reading of said resolution by reason of public emergency.

The following resolution was introduced for first
reading and also final passage:
WHEREAS, on the 17th day of May, 1921, the Mayor and
City Clerk, pursuant to Ordinance No. 2386 of the City of
Salina, signed, attested and registered three hundred bonds
of the City of Salina, dated January lst, 1921, in denom-
ination of $1,000.00 each, aggregating $300,000.00, issued
for the purpose of erecting a Military Monument in said
City; and
;;WHEREAS, on the 18th day of May, 1921, said bonds _
were registeded with the Auditor of State of Kansas, in the
City of Topeka; and
WHEREAS, it has been ascertained that the date of ma-
turity appearing on the face of each bond, and on the cap-
tion of each bond had been defaced, and had been changed,
making each bond appear as though there had been alterations
made in the same, and there were also several typographical
errors appearing on each of said bonds; and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary and desirous at this time,
that said bonds be cancelled and destroyed, and that new
bonds of exactly the same tenor and effect be executed and
registered by the same officials of the City, and delivered
to the purchaser thereof; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED, by The Board of Commissioners of the
City of Salina, Kansas that Bonds numbers 1 to 300 of the
City of Salina, dated Lnuary 1st, 1921, aggregating $300,000
issued for the purpose fo erecting a military monument in
said City, in pursuance to Ordinance No. 2386 be cancelled
and destroyed, and in their place instead, there be re-
signed, sealed and registered three hundred bonds in denom-
ination of $1000.00 dated January 1st, 1921, in exactly
the same form and of the same tenor and effect, be executed
and registered as of the date when said defaced bonds were
executed, and that the same be presentd to the Auditor of
the State of Kansas for registration.
That said new or duplicate bonds, so executed and
registered shall have the same force and effect, and shall
be considered as the only valid bonds of the City outstand-
ing for said purpose, and the City officials are hereby
authorized and directed to levy a tax for the payment of
the same, in all respects as though said defaced bonds,
which shall be destroyed, were never in fact signed and
registered.
Approved and adopted this 28th day of June, 1921.

On motion of Commissioner Campbell the resolution
was adopted as read by the following vote; Ayes: Campbell
and Dyar. (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Hargett absent frpm
the State.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell, special session
adjourned.
