06-20-1921 Minutes09))PCG Commissioner Proceedings. An ordinance was introduced for first reading, entitled: "An ordinance relating to the making of excavations in streets and alleys or other public ground in the City of Salina, Kansas, providing penalties for the violation thereof and repealing Ordi- nance No. 1882, and such part or parts of other ordinances as may be in conflict herewith." On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance creating the office of Assistant City Attorney specifying his duties and compensation." On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. A petition was received asking the Board of Commissioners to take some action in remedying the drainage on Santa Fe Aven- ue, south of Prescott Avenue. Same was referred to the City Manager. A remonstrance was received protesting against the curb- ing, guttering, excavating, grading and paving of Ninth Streett, from the south line of Republic Avenue to the north line of Jew4 ell Avenue. Same was referred to the City Manager. The monthly reports of the City Clerk, City Treasurer, Police Judge and Fire Chief were received and ordered filed. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Dyar, the roll was called and the following named Commissioners respond- ed, Campbell, Dyar and Hargett, and Acting City Attorney Norris. s' The minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 13th, 1921, j ! were read and approved as read. ! An ordinance was introduced for final adoption entitled: "An ordinance amending Section 7 of Ordinance No. 2344, entitled 'An ordinance relating to salaries and compensation of officers ! and employees of the City of Salina, Kansas, and repealing all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith', and repealing said original section." i On motion of Commissioner Hargett the ordinance was read and adopted by sections, and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar and Hargett. (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 2393. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance mak- 4 ing an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar and Hargett. (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 2394. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance mak- ing appropriations for miscellaneous purposes." On motion of Commissioner Hargett the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vgte was had; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar and Hargett.
