06-13-1921 Minutes2l 1 1 1 1 Commissioner Proceedings COMMISSIONERS ROOM SALINA, K:';NSAS JUNE 13, 1921 Board of Commissioners met in regular session, June 13th, 1921. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Dyar, and Commissioners Campbell, Dyar and Hargett responded. The minutes of the 4gular Meeting of June 6th, 1921s were read and approved as read. The following resolution was introduced for final adop- tion: BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, that the grading, excavating, curb- ing, guttering and paving of Ninth Street in the City of Salina, from the north line of Otis Avenue to the south line of Euclid Avenue in said City, be and the same is hereby determined to be a necessary improvement, and that said Ninth Street in the City of Salina, be graded, excavated, curbed, guttered and paved between the limits as hereinbefore defined. On motion of Commissioner Campbell the resolution was adopted as read by the following vote; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar and Hargett (3) Nays: (0) The following resolution was introduced for final adop- tion: BE IT RESOLVED, by The Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina: That, WHEREAS, the City of Salina has heretofore issued its certain Improvement Bonds, Numbers 25, 262 272 28, dated April 1st, 1916, in the amount of 0500.00 each said bonds hav- ing been due April lst, 1921, and bearing interest at the rate of 41 per cent per annum payable semi annually in April and October of each year, and WHEREAS, it has been made to appear by affidavit in accordance with the terms of the Statutes of Kansas that said bonds have been lost and that the First National Bank of New- ton, Kansas, is at this time the sole owner of all right, ti- tle and interest in and to the principal and interest coupons of said bonds, NOW THEREFORE, Be it Resolved that the proper officers of the ity of Salina be and they are hereby authorized and directed to issue duplicate bonds and coupons in lieu of said lost bonds and coupons, delivering the same to the owner en- titled thereto upon such owner executing and delivering a proper indemnifying bond and upon such owner in all respects fully complying with all particulars of law as provided for by Sections 703 to 707 (inclusive) of the General Statutes of Kansas for 1915. On motion of Commissioner Hargett the resolution was adopted as read by the following vote; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar and Hargett. (3) Nays: (0) The request for permission to lay a two-inch water main on Ninth Street and Claflin Avenue, which was received May 23rd. 1921 was discussed by the Board of Commissioners. On motion of Commissioner Campbell the City Manager was instructed to notify the parties that the Board of Com- —' missioners deemed it not advisable togrant permission to lay a water line in the streets of the City to supply resi- dents residing outside of the corporate limits of the City. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance amending Section 7 of Ordinance No. 2344, entitled, 'An ordinance relating to the salaries and compensation of officers and employees of the City of Salina, Kansas, and repealing all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith,' and repealing said original section." On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. On motion of Commissioner Campbell, Board of Commission- ers adjourned.
