City Commissioners met in regular Session May 2nd2
1921. Meeting called to order by Mayor Dyar, the roll was
called and Commissioners Campbell, Dyar and Hargett, and
City i'ttorney A. R. Buzick responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of t'pril 25th,
1921, were read and approved as read. —
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance
making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was
read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the
roll was called and the following vote was had: Ayes: Oamp-
bell, Dyar and Hargett. (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved
the same and is numbered 2382.
An ordinance entitled, "An ordinance va cat ing the
south 300 feet of the alley running and ext3nding north
and south through the block lying between Elm. Street and
Pine Street and Front Street and Second Street in the City
of Salina, Kansas, " was presented for second reading.
On motion of Commissioner Oampbell the ordinance was
referred back until some arrangement could be made by the
Board of Education for an outlet from Front Street to Second
Street to accomodate the traffic in the alley in the north
end of the block.
The following paving resolutions were introduced and.
read:
Bond Street from the west line of Eighland -venue to
the east line of Ninth Street;
Ohio Street from the north line of Iron I -venue to the
south line of Ash Street;
Jil,sontreat_ from tY_e East line of Santa Fe –venue
to. the crest line of Fifth Street.
On motion of Commissioner Fargett the above resolutions
were referred to the Board of Commissioners until the next
reg��lar msetini-.
Salina Light, Power & Gas Oompany subr_ fitted plans and
estimate of cost for the construction of a "71hit e Way" sys-
tem on Fifth Street from '',7alnut Street to ilsh Street.
Same was referred to the Board of I-ommissioners for
further invest igat ion.
Fire Chief, Ben '1147olber•t, made requisition for one bar-
z•cl of bi-carbonate soda.
Commissioner Campbell moved that the matter be placed
in the hands of the Fire Chief with power to make purchase. --
A complaint was entered against the unsanitary cond i-
t ion of the property of yrs. Rooerts on South Phillips street .
On motion of Commissioner Car:pbell the matter s re-
ferred to the Ch, ief of Police for invest igat ion.
City Attorney Buzick was requested to draft an ordi-
nance compelling property owners to connect their property ---
With sewer, water and gas in advance of pavinE,, in compliance
with Senate Bill #24, recently passed by the legislature.
An ordinance was introduced and read entitled: "An
ordinance providing for the levy and collection of a license
tax upon amuser.ent parks carried on and operated within the
City of Salina .

On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to
the Board of Cemiiiissioners.
An ordinance ;;as introduced entitled: "Aa orcinance mak-
ing an appropriation for the payment of a certain ciaim ."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell, sarne was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
The following resolution was introduced -and read:
"Providing for the appo intrr,ent of a City Mianager ."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred
to the Board of Commissioners.
There being no further business appearing, on motion of
-- Commissioner Hargett, Board of Commissioners adjuarned.
