Regular semi -r cont hly meeting of the City Uouncil January

cilmen Howell and Bradford absent.
The minutes of the regular Semi*monthly I'v eet ing :)f January
3rd, 1921, were read and approved as read.

appeared before the Council and presented the matter of increase

Councilr'an Dyar moved that the Council go into executive
session at the close of the r_leet ing and discuss the matter. P, of ion

F.1r. Steve Hoyne appeared before the Council and asked per-
mission to use Kenwood hark dt_rin the State Sportsman 1,1eeting to
be held in Salina Iv ay 3rd, fourth and fifth, 1921, anc.1 also as',, --ed
Permission to install a trap te_porarily in the park to accomodate
practice shooting .
Councili.:an Dyar rloved that the request be granted.
An ordinance eras introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Councilman Dear the ordinance was read and
adopted,by sections and on its final adoption the roll ras called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Dyar, Givens, Spaeth, --
Marne, Campbell, ivaite, Earbee and Carver. (8) -ays: (0) Coun-
cilmen Hoviell and i radford absent . idayor approved same and is num-
bered 2369.
An Act was presented to the Coui:oil entitled: k c
relating to crippled, disabled, retired and deceased firemen of
the cities of Kansas, amending Sections 1192 and 1195 of the
Genera St .tL:..tes of Kansas for 1915, and repealing or "ina.l sec

t ions 1192 and 1195."

amending Sections 31 and 43 of Ordinance No. 1618, arid repealing
said original sections."
On motion, it ,,,ras referred back to the committee to be pre-

Leo P. Duren, as poi -icemen of the City of Salim., and on motion of
Councilman Dyer the appointments were confirmed.
Councilman S.)aeth mover'. that 100 additional street signs be
placed on the different streets in the City.

Councilman Dyar also moved that 15 additional school signs
be placed near the different schools in the City.
A petition was presented asking for the opening of an alley
in the center of the block between. Santa Fe -venue ar.d Highland
',venue from y ilson Street to Dond Street. Same was referred to
the Stre-.et and alley Comrr<ittee.
Councilman S aeth moved that the �'anager of The IL�alia�a
Light, Po,.er Gas Company be notified to meet the Council and
ascertain the reason of insufficient light service.

The monthly reports of the City Clerk, City Treasurer and

On motion, Council went into executive Session, arid after a
short executive session Council re -convened arxL the 111'�,-yor appoint-
ed a special committee to inv,sti-ate the iratter of increase in
eater rates.
