Adjourned meeting of the City Council, Lecember 28th.,

cilmen responded to roll call; Dyar, Givens, Spaeth, I-larne,
Canipbe�, iaite, 12radford and Uarver. Councilmen iiowell and
Barbee and City Attorney 3uz i ck absent.
.: f.etition :gas received protesting a,airist the easing
of the property ovvned by the City on 'lest Crawford avenue,
for the construction of a store building.
On motion of Counc.L lman Spaeth tree prayers of the petition-
ers were granted and the Cit;; refused to issue a lease on said
frourd .
An ord=inance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance re-'
gulat ing the crossing of railroad tracks by pedestrians and.
drivers of vehicles and providing a penalty for the violation
thei°eof ."
Councilman ' � ivens roved that the ordinance be referred
back to the Committee, to include another section providin-
for the duties of said watchman. lotion adopted..
An ordinance aas introduced entitled: UAn ordinance
requirin- the--eepinu of certain records by pawn brokers, loan
offices, junk dealers acid by dealers in used and second hand
articles, and providing; a penalty for the violation thereof."
On mot ion of Counc ilr an Lyar the ordinance was referred
back to the committee to be brought up at a future r:teetingr,
when the seve.ra ., dealers that such ordinance would affect could
be preseit and be heard.
