Regular semi-monthly meeting of the City Council, Decem ger
20th, 1920. I.,".,..yor mathelrrs presiding, City 11-ttorriey Buzick and
the follo,iing named councilmen responded to roll call; Dyar,
Givens, Spaeth, Harne, Uam :,bell, eaite, Bradford, Bargee snd
Carver. Couiricilman Howell absent.
The minutes of the Regular Semi-monthly It?eetirig of Decem-
ber 6th, 1920, were read and. approved as read.
,n ordinance was introduced entitled: 11A , ordinance mak-
ing an appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Councilman Spaeth the ordinance was read an.,d
adopted by sections arid on its final adoption the roll was call-
ed and the following vote was had; Ayes: Dyar, Givens, Spaeth,
_iarne, Campbell,+aite, B�
radford, 'arbee and Carver. (9) lays:
(0) Councilr:an ijo,nrell absent. The I,Iayor approved the same and
is numbered 2365.
Com2)laint was entered into against certain buildings lo-
cated, having roofs slopint toward the sidewalk, and not having
the proper gutter to take care of the water, thereby falling on
the side,lalk and inconveniencing, pedestrians.
Cou:icili.:an Dyar moved that the City "ttorney investigate
and draft an ordinance regulating the construction of troughs
and down -spouts, to take care of the water.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance
amending Section 16 of Ordinance No. 1688 and repealing said
original section."
On motion of Cou ici lir_an Spaeth the rules of order were
suspended. for its consideration by the following vote; Ayes:
Dyar, Givens, Spaeth, Harne, Uampbell, ,'Jaite., Bradford, Barbee
and Uarver. (9) mays: (0) Councilr,-jan Ilio,^cell absent .
On motion of Cou ,c i l;r:an Spaeth the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections arid on its final adoption the roll was
called arid the following vote was had; Ayes: Dyar, Givens,
Spaeth, i -arae, Caripbell, aaite, Lradford, Larbee and Carver.

the saire and is numbered 2366.
Councilman Spaeth moved that all incandescent light be
located at the northwest corner of Santa Fe Avenue near the
Union Pacific Right of way, also an arc light on forth ` 'hir-
teerith Street, near the Union 6tation, about 20 feet nortlZ of
the right of way.
Councilman Dyar moved that the above recorrimeridations be
adopted, acid that the City Clerk notify life Salina Light, io er
and Gas Company to locate said lights.

City would sell tine west thirty-five (35) feet of their lot
located on �Uest Crawford t�venue, or if they would not sell the
sarne, ,-could like to lease it for a term of years .
Counciliran �#aite moved that the matter be referred to the
mayor and vays and ,ti`eans Coti,raittee with power to act .
Counc il__.an Givers moved that it be the sense of the Llayor
and Council to submit the proposition of Comrr:ission I:'Iariager fo rm
of government to the citizens of Salina: for decision, and that
the A-ayor call a Special Diction if the required number of pe-

CoL?ncilrian Dyar i..oved that parties who are encroaching
on Third Street south of Ash Street Le ordered to vacate.
Councilman i radford n;oved that the Uity Attorney draft an
ordinance, requiririg the keepiJig of certain records by pawn brok-
ers, loan offices, junk dealers and by dealers in used ai-d sec-
ond hand articles and providing a penalty for the violation
thereof.

Counc ilman Dyar moved that the City Clerk not if Carl
Johnson to vacate and remove his store building from the ;round
known as Riverside Park, on or before April lst,1921.
A resolut ion was preser:ted from the Poard of Lducat ion,
asking the i:ayor to call a :special Election for January 25th, 1921.
