SPL Team Spotlight - Information Services
The Information Services Department manages most of the materials, programs and services that serve our
adult patrons. The staff members man the information desk and answer reference questions in-person, and
also via phone, email and chat. Collection management, including purchasing and weeding, of all materials
(books, DVDs, games, audiobooks, digital books, etc.) falls to Information Services. We also plan and
implement programming including classes, book discussion groups and presentations. Another major
departmental focus is outreach services for adults such homebound delivery, lobby stops and read alouds at
retirement facilities, community presentations, and pop-up libraries.
