Special Called Meeting of the City Council, June 14th,
1920. Y.ayor Mathews presiding, City Attorney C. A. Spencer and
the following named councilmen answered to roll call; Stolper,
Dyar, Spaeth, Howell, Harne, Camjbell, 4aite, Bradford and Carver .
Councilman Barbee absent.
The request and call for meeting, and the report of servi(e
on the same was read as follows:

City of Salina, Kansas.
We, the undersigned members of the City Council of the City
of Salina, Kansas, hereby respectfully ask you to call a Special
iv`ieeting of the City Council to meet in the Council Chamber, Mon-
day evening, June 14th, 1920, at 8 o'clock i. iv. for the purpose
of
"Considering and acting upon the application of
The Salina 'water 4orks Company for a raise in
the water rates to the City, and inhabitants
thereof ."

In compliance with the above and foregoing request and for
the purpose therein named, I hereby call a Special Mleeting of
the ity Council of Salina, Kansas, to meet June 14th, 1920, at
8 o'clock r. ilii. in the Council Chamber, of said City, and the
City Marshal is hereby dorected to notify each of the Councilmen
and the City Attorney of said meeting and maek due return of
said notice hereon.

ver, and City Attorney C. ii• spencer of the within mentioned Spe-
cial Meeting by reading; to eath of said Councilmen and City Attor-
ney the foregoing call for such meeting. Councilman Barbee out

C. B. Salmon, a representative of the bond holders of The
Salina +eater 'Aorks Company appeared before the Council, with a
request asking for an increase of water rates in the City of S2_lina.
Councilman iVaite moved that a committee composed of Council-
man Harne and City Engineer i'. G. ,akenhut, be instructed to in-
vestigate the books of The Salina +pater ',"forks Company, and report
back to the Council at the Adjourned Meeting of June 17th, 1920.
Councilman 4aite moved that Council adjourn until Thursday,
June 17th, 1920 at 8 o'clock k.
