A request was received from the Kansas Cattle Company ask- ing permission to build a private sewer and water line from Glaf- lin Avenue south one block to the company' s dairy building. The request was referred to the aemrer and Dra.inag-e Commit - tee. Roy 1 erki.ns, of the A,rerican Legion, appeared before the council and asked that the City remit carnival license to said Legion for the carnival to be held i.-1 Salina, „Iay 3rd to 8th, 192-0, inclusive. Councilman Dyar moved that the request be granted. F. J. Blundon appeared before the Council and spoke in re- ference to the opening of Fourth street south of South "treet . Councilman Peters moved that the matter 2-e referred to the Street and Alley Committee for recomimendat ions. i.ir. 11. i'uller of trhe 'Aidland 1"'efining Company of Fila- rado, Kansas, asked for a special permit for tike construction of a filling station at the corner of Fignth Street and Iron Aven- ue; also for the erection of a Storage Station in the northwest part of the City between the Santa i"e and `ane Salina i'orLhern --- Railway Companies. Councilman !!Dwell !moved that tile permit be granted for the erection of a filling station at the comfier of Fi girth Street and Iron «venue. Gounci lirianSpaeth moved that tile matter of locating tanks and storage station be referred to tiie Building Committee, to report at the next "egular weeting. Attention was called to the 6ouncil of the sheds belongirg to the Rearrrin Lumber Company that "were constructed sometime ago by a special permit, agreeing at the tune to cover same with corrugated iron, that the su,ne rias not been complied with. The ,,latter was referred to tine ISuilding C oinmittee for investigation. A petition was received asking for tike locat idn of a: ­street light at the corner of Tenth Street and 'ra,.vford Avenue. Same was referred to the Street and Gilley Committee. A ,etition eras received asking for the construction of a sidewalk on the west side of Des I"oines Avenue, from %lin Street north 150 feet. Sai,ie was referred to the Sidewalk Committee. The monthly reports of tike City Clerk, City Treasurer, Po- lice Judge and !Fire Chief were received and ordered filed.
