The minutes of the 1iegular semi-monthly meeting of February -
16th, 1920 were read and approved as read .
An ordinance was introduced entitled: it ri ordinance making
an appropriation for the payment of certain claims ."
On motion of Councilman Cpaeth the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; =eyes: z:�tolper, Dyar, Spaeth,
Harne, Nyberg, livaite, L'radford and "eters. (8) Ylays: Howell and
Todd absent . {2) The i.ayor approved the same and is numbered
2322.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance vacating
certain alleys in the city of Salina, Kansas."

Councilman L=arne of the street arid Alley Committee reported
unfavorable on the %etition asking for the i idening of L'epublic
-venue from -anta Fe revenue to righland I -venue .
On motion of Counci lrr.an +`+cite, the report of the Committee
was adopted.
Fire Department made requisition for 1,000 feet of fire hose.
Councilman 'Waite moved that the Fire Departmer_�t Committee in-
vestiE,ate and receive prices for sa,.e if they deemed it advisable.
I'lotion adopted.
The matter of securing a location for a detention hospital
was generally discussed by the Council and citizens present.
Councilman reters moved that the Committee confer with the
County Commissioners to see if arran events could not be rade,
whereby the City and County could use the building jointly. yo -
tion adopted.
Councilman S�,�-.eth of the auger and DrairaL�e Ccmmittee re-
com;rended that additional catchbasins be placed to the north side
sewer.
Council„!an i yar of the Larks and Larl',ing Committee moved that
Jgrass seed snould be purchased for the trying out of the seeding of
ie parkin --s on one of the blocks either on -5anta Fe z�venue or Ninth
Street.
councilman Dyar also moved that an additional man be placed
in the Lark Department to work unaer the supervision of "ark Com-

leaves and rubbish during the daytime.
