and the following named councilmen answered to roll call; Stolper,

The minutes of the Regular semi-monthly IMeeting of January
5th, 1920, were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an
appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Councilman Peters the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the: roll was called and

On motion of Counc ilmah Harne, same were adopted and approved
by the Council.

manner of construction, providing for the cost thereof and the

Councilman Spaeth moved that the Ci

Councilman peters moved that the Public Health Commit-
tee
ommit-tee be instructed to prepare an ordinance regulating the dis-
tribution of milk in the city of S-alina, Kansas.
Councilman Spaeth moved that the City- G lerk notify the
Salina Light, rovlrer & Gas Comp-ny to remove thS guy wire from
the gutter at the corner of Lincoln and Santa e Avenue.
Councilman Bradford moved that the applications asking
for Pool Hall Licenses, that were presented at the Council
Meeting, January 5th, 1920, be granted; and on roll call the --
following vote was had; eyes: Stolper, Dyar, Spaeth, Howell
and Bradford. (5) Fays: Harne, Ryberg-, Waite and Peters.

A petition was received askinb for the curbing, gutter-
ing, excavating, grading and paving Eleventh Street from the
north line of fish street to the south line of nark Street.
Same was referred to the Street and Alley Committee.
H petition was received asking for the lccation of an
street light at the corner of Phillips Street and Cra„rford
Avenue. Same was ..referred to the Street and Alley Committee
Councilman Peters moved that the City Clerk be instruct-
ed to advertise for bids for the paving of certain_ streets
that have been acted on by the Mayor and Council. Bids to
be receivdd February 9th, 1920 at eight o'clock P. V.
The monthly reports of the City Clerk, City Treasurer,
Police fudge and P ire Chief, Frere received at�d ordered field.
