Tresident of the Council and Acting Mayor W. H. Todd presiding, and the following named councilmen answered to roll call; "tolper, byar, Spaeth, Howell, flarne, Ryber ., Waite, "radford, Todd and reters. �!ayor h'la.thews and City ft- torney G. A. Spencer absent. The request and call for Meeting and report of service on the same was read as follows: "alina, Lansas - Nov. 21st, 1919. to :€d. it. Todd, rresident of the Council & rictin� Mayor,City of Salina, Kansas. vVe, the undersigned members of the City Council of Sali- na, Kansas, do hereby respectfully ask you to calla special meeting of the Uity Council to meet in the Council Chamber, k'riday evening, ivovember 21st, 1919, at 8 O'clock P. Galina., Kansas, Nov. 21st, 1919 In compliance with the above and foregoing request and for the purpose therein named, I hereby call a Special Meet- ing of the City Council of Salina, Kansas, to meet on the 21st day of lvovember, 1919, in the Council in said City, and the City ►'iarshal is hereby directed to notify each of the Council- men and the City "ttorney of said meeting and make due return of said notice hereon. Councilman 'Vo. H. Todd of the Fifth 4ard, informed the Council that he expects to be absent from the City a greater part of the time the coming winter, and, as he holds the posi- tion as rresident of the Courlcil and �'Xeting Ma.yir he tendered his resignation, and asked the Council to elect his successor. Councilman r.eters placed the name of I. S. Waite for the position of President of the Council and Acting Mayor for the unexpired term. Councilman-'radford moved that the nominations be closed and that the Uity Clerk be instructed to cast the entire vote of the Council for I. S. Naite as President of the Council and 'Ict ing "layor for the unexpired term. On motion of Councilman Peters, Council adjourned. City C lerlr .
