Regular semi-monthly meeting of the City Council October
6th, 1919. P.,Iayor Mathews presiding, City Attorney G. A. Spenc-
er and the following named councilmen answered to roll call;
Stolper, Spaeth, rlowell, Harne, nyberg, +Vaite, Bradford, Todd
and Peters. Councilman Dyar a userrt .
P:'r. x• n. Lovitt appeared before the Council in behalf
of Louie hledov, asking for a junk dealers license.
Councilman Stolper moved that the same be granted. P,^otion
adopted.
Councilman Waite moved that the u ity Attorney notify the
bonding company in reference to the defective sidewalk con-
structed under the contract of Snyder, Tuttle and Norton.
jkn ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance mak-
ing an appropriation for the payment of certain c?.a.ims ."
on motion of Councilman Peters the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the followiriC, vote was had; Stolper, Spaeth, Howell ,
Harne, Ryberg, Xaite, Lradford, Todd and reters. (9) Fays:

is numbered 2291.
Councilman Harne of the Street and alley Committee stated
that after a thorough invest ilat ion, the committee desires to
report favorable on the petition asking for a 'r'lhite 'fray on
Fifth Street from 'Nalnut Street to Ash id on Iron
Avenue from Seventh Street to Plinth Street.
On motion, the report of the committee was received and adopted.
On motion, 1v1. R• Amerman was given one week from date to
complete filling the parkings on ►4econd Street south Of Iron
Avenue, and, if not done within that time the Street Commission-

Councilman Bradford of the 1-luildinc, Committee reported
that in his opinion, the chimney on the �i.ty Building should
be re -built and extended hi&her.
The matter was referred to the Building Committee with
power to act.
Councilman Howell of the Fire Department Committee report-
ed and recommended the purchase of lockers for the Fire Depart -
merit .
Councilman Todd moved that the recommendations of the Com-
mittee be adopted and that the committee be 3iven power to make
said purchase.

The ,gad condition of the alley between Santa Fe and
Fifth Street from iron ,venue to ,'ash Street was discussed by
the Council and the Street and Alley Committee ,rias instructed
to have the same repaired as soon as possible.
The natter of either retaini.n� or renovini; the water
pipes that Frere extended in the Kenwrood du.ri.nu; the fall
? festival was discussed, and the matter was finally referred to
the "ark Co:rrmittee to do what they deem advisable.
Councilman Peters of the Special Committee, to whom was
referred the matter of granting a license for a. public dance
in nenwood Park reported unfavorable.
