Mayor lvlathews presiding, City Attorney U. A. Spencer and the following named councilmen answered to roll call; Underwood, Grimes, Smith, Spaeth, Reed, Richolson, Brown, Waite, Todd and Peters. The matter of constructing closets in the City Park was referred to the Parks and Parking Committee with power to act. Mr. W. E. Quillin, uenera.l T4anager of The Salina Light, Power & Gas Company appeared before the Council and submitted a written request that the Council grant them an ordinance author- ising them to change the gas and electric power rates of the C it Y. on motion; the matter was referred to the Corporation and Franchise Committee to report at an Adjourned Meeting to be held on Friday evening, July 26th, 1918. Chamber of Commerce submitted a request to the Council to pass the necessary ordinance whereby the dairy and milk depots of Salina be put in sanitary condition. The matter was referred to the Public Health Committee. Councilman Brown moved that the licenses for pool halls, as per applications filed, be granted, and on the adoption of the motion the r,,11 was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Grimes, Spaeth, Reed, Nicholson and Brown. (5) flays: Smith, laite, Todd and Peters. (4) Councilman Underwood not voting. On motion of Councilman Smith Council adjourned until Friday evening, July 26th, 1918 at 8 O'clock P. 111. City Clerk.
