CUuNUIL PROCEEDINGS, SPECIAL SESSION,

Special Session of the Mayor and Council, May 13th, 1918s
for the purpose of hearing complaints from property owners as
to the valuation placed on certain lots and pieces of ground
on which to base the cost of curbing, guttering, excavating,
grading and paving
Eighth Street, from the north line of Ash Street to the
south line of Elm Street;

Phillips Street,from the south line of South Street to
the north line of h1orrison Avenue; j
Washington Avenue,from the west smt a of Plinth Street to
the east side of Tenth Street;
and for the excaysting, grading and paving of:
Ash Street, from thewest line of Fourth Street to the
east line of Third Street;
Ash Street,from the east line of Third Street to the west
line of Front Street;
Elm Street, from the west line of Fourth Street to the
east line of Third Street;
Mulberry Street , from the west line of Fifth Street to the
east lien of Santa Fe Avenue.
Mayor Tti:athews presiding, City Attorney G. A. Spencer and
the following named councilmen answered to roll call; underwool
Grimes, Smith, Spaeth, Reed, Richolson, Brown, Waite, Todd and
Peters.
The appraisers report for the curbing, guttering, excavIt-
ing, grading and paving of Washington J�venue frot:l the west side
of Ninth Street to the east side of Tenth Street was taken up
and read as follows:

duly and severally sworn according to law, each for himself, d
does hereby solemnly swear that he is an owner of real estate
in the city of Salina, K�:.nsas, acid is disinterested in any of
the property liable to special assessment for the cost of
curbing, guttering, excavating, grading and paving Nashington

Tenth Street as more particularly described and provided for
in Ordinance No. 2122 of the city of Salina, Kansas, and that
each of us will to the best of our judgment and ability make a

ing, grading and paving of Eighth Street, from the north line of
Ash Street to the south line of Elm Street was taken up and read
as follows:

for the excavating and paving of Ash Street from the east line
of Third Street to the west line of Front Street be adopted as
read. Motion adopted.
The appraisers report for the excavating and paving of
Elm Street from the west line of r'ourth Street to the east line
of Third Street was taken up and read as follows:

duly and severally sworn according to law, each for himself,
does hereby solemnly swear that he is an owner of real estate
in the City of Salina, Saline County, 1iansas, and is disin-
terest in any of the property liable to special assessment for
the cost of excavating, grading and paving Elm Street from
the west line of Fourth Street to the east line of Third Street,
as more particularly described and provided for in Ordinance
No. 2137 of the City of Salina; and that each of us will to
the best of our judgment and ability make a true and impartial
appraisement of all the lots and pieces of ground abutting on
such respective streets as above described, without regard to the
buildings or improvements thereon, the distance to be improved,
