Street and Alley Committee submitted the follol-ling report:
To the L,'iayor and Council of the City of Salina:
We, the undersigned members of the Street and Alley Commit-
tee to whom was referred the matter of taking into the corporate
limits of Salina, Kansas, that tract of land lying south of Repub-
lie Avenue and west of 'ninth Street containing approximately eighty
acres and I�noiFrn as .lVallerius Tract, beg to advise that we recommend
that said tract of land be not incorporated within the limits of the
City of Salina, Kansas, upon the terms and conditions set forth in
the written proposition heretofore submitted to this Council by
the owners of such tract.

Councilman Brown moved that the report of the committee be
adopted, and on roll call the following vote was had; Ayes;
Underwood, Henry, Reed, Brown and Todd. (5) ;rays: Grimes,
Smith, Mishler, Waite and Peters. (5) There being a tie, the
Ivlayor cast the deciding vote in favor of the motion.
Councilman Underwood moved that the Mayor appoint a special
committee to confer with the Highland Court Company, and report
at the next meetinU, of t ie Council. notion adoptee:.
Mayor Hlathews appointed Councilmen Broin, Smith and Underwood
for the above committee.
Councilman Smith moved that R. P.,Nhelchel be employed as
Special Police in Oakdale Park, to work under the direction of the
.ayor.
