Special session of the Mayor and Council, August 14th, 1917,
for the purpose of considering and hearing complaints from prop:=:rty
owners, as to the valuation placed on certain lots and pieces of
ground in the city of Salina, Kansas to base the cost of curbing
and guttering
Seventh Street, from the north line of Elm Street to the
south line of Pine Street;
Fifth Street, from the south line of Crawford Avenue to the
north line of Trescott A,vpnue;
and for the curbing, guttering, excavating; grading and paving of
Bond Street, from the west line of Santa Fe Avenue to the
east line of Highland Avenue;
Bishop Street, from the west linf of Thirteenth Street to the
east line of ColleL7e Avenue;
Prescott Avenue, from the west line of Ninth Street to the
west line of Eleventh Street;
College Avenues from the north line of Park Street to the
south line of Bishop Street.;
Twelfth Streeter from the north line of Ash Street to south
line of Bishop Street.
Mayor Mathews presiding, Councilmen Grimes, Henry, Smith.,
Brown, Waite and Todd answered to roll call. Councilmen Under-
wood, Mishler, Reed, and Peters, and City Attorney G. A. Spencer
absent.
The appraisers report for the curbing and guttering of Sev-
enth Streetm from the north line of Elm Street to the south line
of Pine Street., was taken up and read as follows:

duly and severally sworn according to law, each for himself, does
hereby solemnly swear that he is an owner of real estate in the
city of Salina, Saline County, Kansas, and is disinterested in
any of the property liable to special assessment for the curbing
and guttering of SEVENTH STREET, from the north line of Elm street
to the south line of Pine Street, as more particularly described
and provided for in Ordinance No. 1991 of the City of Salina; and
that each of us will to the best of our judgment and ability make
a true and impartial appraisement of all the lots and pieces of
ground abutting on such respective streets as above described,
without regard to the buildings or improvements thereon, the dis-
tance to be improved, as set forth and designated by the Mayor and --
Council in said Ordinance No. 1991. So help us God.

Kansas, under Ordinance No. 1991, to appraise the property on each
side of Seventh Street to the center of the block between Santa Fe
Avenue and Eighth Street, from the north side of Elm Street in the
City of Salina, Kansas, to the south side of Pine Street in said City
of Salina, Kansas, without regard to buildings or improvements there-
