LE IT R WEIViBLR10, That on this Friday evening, June lst,
1917, the Mayor and Council met as a Board of Canvassers (ex
officio) as provided by law, to canvass the vote cast at the
Special Election held in Salina, Kansas, May 29th, 1917.
Mayor Mathews presiding and the following named councilmen
answered to roll call; Underwood, Henry, Smith, Mishler, Brown
and Waite. Councilmen Grimes, Reed and Todd, also City Attorney
G• A • Spencer absent.
The returns of the Special Election were presented by the
City Clerk and opened by the Mayor in the presence of the ouncil-
men assembled, duly canvassed and the result declared, and the
City Clerk was directed by vote of the Board to spread upon the
Journal the result of the canvass which is done as follows:
F. C • Peters, Councilman in Fifth ITard, (to fill vacancy) .. 27
And the City Clerk made record as the result of the canvass
that the Board finds that the following named person is elected to
the office to be filled.
F. C. Peters, Councilman in fifth Ward, (to fill vacancy)
On motion of Councilman Underwood the report and findings
of the Board was received and ordered spread upon the records.
On motion of Councilman Mishler the Canvassing Board adjourned.
