Special Called Meeting of the Mayor and Council, May 23rd,
1917. Mayor Mathews presiding, City Attorney Guy A. Spencer and
the following named councilmen answered to roll call; Underwood,
Crimes, Henry, Smith, Mishler, Reed, Brown, Waite, and Todd.
The request and call for meeting and the report of service
on the same was read as follows:
Salina, Kansas, May 23rd, 1917.
To Edd Mathews, Mayor,
Salina, Kansas.
We, the undersigned, members of the City Council,
of the city of Salina, hereby request you to call a Special Meet-
ing of the City Council to meet in the Council Chamber, Wednesday
May 23rd, 1917, at 8 o'clock P • Pvi • for the purpose of passing an
ordinance providing for the issuance of Improvement Bonds of the
City of Salina, Kansas, in the sum of $18,000.00 to ay the cost
of improving certain streets in said City of Salina.'

In compliance with the above and foregoing request and for
the purpose therein named, I hereby call a Special A,".eeting of the
City Council of Salina, to meet on the 23rd day of May, 1917,
at 8 o'clock r • 1i= • at the Council Chamber in said City, and the
City Marshal is hereby directed to notify each of the councilmen
and the City Attorney of said meeting and make due return of said
notice hereon.

and foregoing call for such meeting, in person.

The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 2040.
On motion of Councilman Brown, Council adjourned.
