BE lit ttEmEmBEREDv That on this Friday evening, April 27th,
1917, the Mayor and Council met as canvassers, (ex officio) as provid-
ed by law, to canvass the vote cast at the special Election held in
said City on the 24th day of April, 1917, for the proposition to
issue bonds in the sum of Twenty -Five Thousand (v625,000.00) Dollars,
for the purpose of erecting suitable school buildings in Salina, Kan-
sas, to accommodate the school population of said City.
Mayor Mathews presiding, and the following named councilmen
answered to roll call; Underwood, Grimes, Henry, Smith, Mishler,
Reed, Brown, Waite, and Todd. City Attorney W. B. Crowther absent.
The returns of the Special City Election were presented by
the City Clerk and opened by the Mayor in the presence of the Coun-
cilmen assembled, duly canvassed and the result declared, and the
Clerk was directed by vote of the Board to spread upon the Journal
the result of the canvass which is done as follows, to -wit:

And that the City Clerk make record as the result of the can-
vass that the Board finds and does declare that the proposition to
issue bonds in the sum of $25,000.00 for the purpose of erecting
school buildings in Salina, Kansas, to accomodate the school popu-
lation of said City, was legally carried by the following vote;

On motion of Councilman Brown, the report and findings of the
Canvassing Board was received and ordered tpread upon the Journal.
On motion of Councilman Brown, the Canvassing Board adjourned.
