Mayor Putnam presiding, City Attorney W • B • Crowther and the follow- ing named councilmen answered to roll call; Miller, Underwood, Wolff, Henry, Swednburg, Mishler, Ostberg, Brown, Mathews and Bate- man. Joe Hunt appeared before the Council and presented a petition asking for the vacation of a portion of Tucker Park. Councilman Brown moved that the Council recommend the peti- tion to vacate Lots Thirteen (13) and Fourteen (14) Block Two (2), Tucker Park Addition. Motion adopted. The following resolution was introduced: WHE-ErZ, it is shown to the Mayor and Council that Wm. Reimold and J. Earl Wyatt have agreed to take four water services on Ash -Street within a distance of 240 feet from the water main now laid on Ash Street, now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, By the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina, that the Salina Fater Works Company is hereby directed to lay a two inch water pipe for domestic purposes only from the pres- ent water main at the corner of Ash Street and Chicago Avenue, in Salina, Kansas, west on Ash Street a distance of 240 feet. On motion of Councilman Henry the rules of order were sus- pended for its consideration and the resolution adopted as read by the following vote; Ayes: Miller, Underwood, Wolff, Henry, Swedenburg, Mishler, Ostberg, Brown, Mathews and Bateman. (10) Nays: (0) The following resolution was introduced: BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and Councilman of the city of Salina, that the -Salina Fater Works Company be and is hereby ordered to connect the service pipe for domestice service only now laid on Fourteenth Street, with the water main now laid on Bishop Street. On motion of Councilman Mishler the rules of order were sus- pended for its consideration and the resolution adopted as read by the following vote; Ayes: Miller, Underwood, Wolff, Henry, Swe- denburg, Mishler, Cstberg, Brown, Mathews and Bateman. (10) Nays: (0) Bids were received for the construction of sidewalk as advert- ised for, and on motion of Councilman brown the matter of opening bids was deferred until the next Regular Meeting of April 16th, 1917. A bid was received from C_ A- Everhart, for the cleaning out of the river as advertised for, for the sum of $592.00, for complet- ing the entire work, also submitting schedule for day work. Councilman Henry moved that the proposition of day work be accepted and the work done under the supervision of the Street and Alley Committee. Motion adopted. A resolution was received from the Board of Education asking the Mayor and Council to call a Special Election, April 24th, 1917, for the purpose of voting on the proposition to issue $259000 School Bonds.
