DECEMBhR 20th, 1916.
Special called meeting of the City Council, December 20th,
1916. Mayor Putnam presiding, and the following named councilmen
answered to roll call; Miller, Underwood, Wolff, Henry, Sweden -
burg, Ostberg, Brown and Mathews. Councilmen Mishler and Bate-
man absent, also City Attorney Vi- B. Crowther.
The request and call for meeting and the report of service
on the same was read as follows:

Salina, Kansas.
We, the undersigned members of the City Council of the city
of Salina, Kansas, hereby respectfully request you to call a
Special Session of such City Council, to meet in the Council Chamber
on December 20th, 1916, at 7:30 o'clock P- M- for the purpose of
considering and acting upon an ordinance providing for the issu-
ance of $10,000.00 of the Bonds of the City of Salina, to The
Salina Northern Railroad Company to aid said railroad company in
securing and paying for land, for right-of-way, depot grounds and
other terminal facilities.

In compliance with the above and foregoing request and for
the purpose therein named, I hereby call a Special Session of the
City Council of Salina to meet on the 20th day of December, 1916,
at 7:30 o' clock P- M- at the Council Chamber in said City and
the City Marshal is hereby directed to notify each of the Council-
men and the City Attorney of said meeting and make due returns of
said notice hereon.

I hereby certify that I have notified Councilmen Miller,
Underwood, Wolff, Henry, Swedenburg, Mishler, Ostberg, Brown,
and Mathews of the above mentioned Special Session by reading
to each of said councilmen the above and foregoing call for such
meeting in person. Councilman Bateman out of the City.

An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordiancne pro-
viding for the issuance of Ten Thousand ($10,000.00) Dollars of
the bonds of the city of Salina, Kansas, to aid The Salina Northern
Railroad Company in securing and paying for land, for right-of-
way, depot grounds and terminal facilities in the city of Salina,
Kansas."
On motion of Councilman Brown the rules of order were sus-
pended for its consideration by the following vote; Ayes: Mill-
er, Underwood, Wolff, Henry, Swedenburg, Ostberg, Brown, and
Mathews. (8) Nays: (0) Councilmen blishler and Bateman
absent.
On motion of Councilman Swedenburg the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Miller, Underwood,
Wolff, Henry, Swedenburg, Ostberg, Brown and Mathews. (8)
Nays: (0) Councilmen Mishler and Bateman absent. The Mayor
approved the same and is numbered 2013.
On motion of Councilman Swedenburg, Council adjourned.
