Adjourned meeting of the City Council October 23rd, 1916.
Mayor Putnam presiding and the following named councilmen answered
to roll call; Miller, Underwood, Wolff, Henry, Swedenburg, Ostberg
and Brown. Councilmen Mishler, Mathews and Bateman and City
Attorney Crowther absent.
The matter of providing a reception for the return of Company
was generally discussed by the Council. The matter was finally
referred to the Tays and Means Committee to provide for the enter-
tainment.

A request was received from a dancing club to hold a special
dance in honor of Company qtr«", and asked permission to charge 'ad-
mission. The matter was generally discussed by the Council and
citizens present and on roll call permission was granted by the fol-
lowing vote; Ayes: Miller, Underwood, Wolff, Henry and Ostberg.
(5) Nays: Swedenburg and Brown (2) Councilmen Mishler, Math-
ews and Bateman absent.

the General Election of November 7th, 1916:

On motion of Councilman Swedenburg, the appointments were con-
firmed.

Councilman Miller moved that the two Special Policemen that are
now working be discharged, and the motion was adopted by the following
vote; Ayes: Miller, Underwood, Wolff, Henry, Swedenburg, Ostberg and
Brown. (7) Nays: (0) Councilmen Mishler, Mathews and Bateman
absent.
A resolution was introduced entitled: "A resolution specifying
that all appointments made to be not in force until confirmed by the
Council.." Same was referred to -The days and Means Committee.
There being no further business, on motion of Councilman Sweden -
burg Council adjourned.
