the City Clerk and City Treasurer be authorized to open up a differ-
ent account of the various departments of the City, narr)ely; General,
Poli-ce, Fire, Street and Engineering; and that the moneys collected
b- the different dep.rtrrnen.ts be deposited to the credit of the de-
partment making the collection. Notion adopted.
The matter, of auditing t -)e City's bo(�ks was presented, and
Councilman Henry moved that the contract be awarded to Geo. Shuler,
as per his bid of ti 126.00 !:Notion adopted.
Street and Al'Ley ComrAttee reported on the ap ,lication. for a
Permit. from the Salina Street Rail:�ray Company, to construct a track
on Bishop Street as follows: ":Re recommend that. the switch be
places: on TrArteenth Street, north, end, not less than sixty (60)
feet south of the south line of Bishop Street." Yv_ot ion adopted_.
Councilman EIathews moved that the extracharge of the cost of

On motion of Councilman Swedenhurgthn resolution was adopted
ns read by the following vote; Ayes: Millor, Underwood, Henry,
Swedenhurg, Wishler, Ostb-PS, Brown and bathews. (6) Nays: (0)

Councilman Ostberg moved that the City Attorney draft an ord-
inance compelling the Street Car Company to pay for the paving of the
street car tracks on streets th2t are ordered paved. Motion adopted.

tract for the pavinS and excavating and ftlTing of certain portions
of Twelfth Street and Phillips Street in the city of Salina, Kpnsac.''
On motion of Councilmnn Mishier the rules of order were suspend-

On motion of Councilman SwedenburS the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption tAe Poll was call9d,

Corporation and Franchise Committe� reported favorably on the
following water rpsolution.:
W IT aMLOLVED, by the Payor and CouncliTen of the city
of of Salina, Kansas, that the Salina Water Forks Company be and it is
hereby directed to lay the following water mains and locate the fol-
lowina fire hydrants:
a six (6) inch main on Phillips Street from South to
Morrison Avenue, and on Morrison from Phillips to Twelfth Street, and
to connect with the present main at Twelfth Street and Morrison,
and at Phil LiDs and South,
A six (3) inch wain on Elm Street from Kansas Avpnue,
east to Des Moines Avenue, and on Des Moines Aven"e, from Ash to
Elm, to connect with the present main at Elm and Kansas, and at Ash
and Des Moines,
A six (6) inch mnin on ihillips Street, from Iron Av,nne
to Walnut Street, to connect with the present mains at each of such
rains,
land_ to locate on such mains fire hydrants as directed
by the Chief of toe Fire Department of the City.''

City Engineor's plans and specifications and estimate of cost
for the construction of certain sewers, were received and on motion
of Councilman Willer were adopted by the CounciT.
Bids for the construction of sewers, as advertised for, were
received as follows: Knudsen and Atart, and 0. T. Snyder.
Councilman Henry moveQ that the contract be awarded to Knudsen
and Ahart, as per their bid., and that the certified check or G. T.
Snyder be returned. Notion adopted.
Councilman Brown moved that the City Clerk notify R. B- Snyder
that he must procure a permit from The Public Welfare Board, for the
conducting of a Dance Hall, or his Ticense heretofore issued, will.
be revoked. Motion adopted.
