Councilman Eichler move6 teat the contract for the curbing and
gut terin3 of Twelfth Street from the north line of Bishop Street to
the south line of Korth Street; and Phillips Street, from the south
line of right-of-way of the Union Pacific Railroad Company to the
south line of the right-of-way of the Missouri Pacific �ailway Com-
pany be let to L. H. Lyon, as per his bid on the last contract.
Motion adopted .
Mayor Putnam appointed Henry H. Eberhardt, W. Hansen and C. L.
Tight, to act as a2praisers to appraise the property necessary for
opening and widening the alley between Tenth. and Eleventh Streets, from
South Stre t to Morrison Avenue, and on motion of Councilnan Bateman
the appoin0onts were confirmed.
Ccuncilvan EatLevs, of the Street and Alley Committee, reported
favorably on the petition asking for the locatior of an Arc Light at
the corner of South Street and Montrose Avenoe, ard that the City
Clerk notify the Salina Light, Power & Gas Company to install said
light. Motion adopteO.
The following resolution introduced:
"LE 11 RESOINEDI by the Fayor and Councilmen of the
city of Salina, Kansas, that the paving, curbing, Eutierilng and ex-
cavating of College Avenrute ill the city of Sialina, from the
north line of Park Street to the south line of Bishop Street are each
and all improvements necessary to be made and done, and be it further
resolved that such street within the limits defined, be paved, curb-
ed, guttered and excavateC."

Councilman Wolff moved that the report of the Committee be
adopted, and that the City Eng ineer prepare plans and specifications; _
and that the City Clerk advertise for bids for the construction. of
the above named sewers; bids to be received June 26th, 1916.
Allotion adopted.
Fred H. Cluincy of the Planters State Bank, submitted a bid for
the 4,7500.00 issue of 4.3/4 Sewer Bonds for par and accrued inter-
est.
Councilman IVIishl_er move, that the bid be accepted.
Councilman Bateman moved that the City Engineer be authorized
to secure additional help, of an Assistant Engineer. Motion adopted.
Councilman Henry reported that he had received prices on
seats for the City Park, and moved that .the City purchase fifty (50 )
seats. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance rer-;ul,_tt in
the erection and maintenance of billboards within the City of Salina,
and fixing a penalty for the violation hereof."
On motion of Councilman Iienry the rules of order a;e -e suspend-
ed for its consideration by the following vote; Ayes: ,w`iller,
Underwood, Henry, Mlishler, Brown, IVat,ews and Bateman. (7j hays:

Company, to construct a track on Bishop Street, was received and
referred. to the Street and Alley Com littee .
A petition vra s received asking for the curbing, guttering, exca-

vating, grading and paving of Prescott Avenue, from the west line of
Ninth Street to the east line of Elev--i-itli Street. Same was referred
to the Street and Alley Committee.
The monthly reports of the City Clerk, City Treasurer, Police
