MARCH 23rd, 1916.
Special Called Meeting of the City Council-, March 23rd,
1916. Mayor Putnam presiding, City Attorney W. b. Crowther and
the following named councilmen answered to roll call; Miller,
Underwood, Carney, Swedenburg, Hagler, Ostberg and Mathews. Coun-
cilmen Wolff, Mishler and Bateman absent.
The request and call for meeting and the report of service
on the same was read as follows:

Salina, Kansas.
We,, the undersigned members of the City Coun-
cil of the City of Salina, Kansas, hereby respectfully request
you to call a special session of the City Council of said City,
to meet in the Council Chamber this, Thursday evening, March 23,
1916, at 7:00 O'clock P. M., for the purpose of passing an ordinance
extending the fire limits of the city of Salina, Kansas.

In compliance with the foregoing call and request and for
the purpose therein named, I hereby call a special meeting of the
City Council to meet at the time and place named therein, and the
City Marshal is hereby directed to notify each of the Councilmen
of said meeting and make due return of said notice hereon.

I, C. H. Burke, City Marshal of the city of
Salina, Kansas, do hereby certify that on the 23rd day of March,
1916, as commanded in the above and foregoing call of the Mayor,
I notified each of the councilmen of the said City of Salina, of
the call of the above and foregoing special meeting by reading to
each of them the above request for such meeting and the Mayor's
call for the same, viz: Miller, Underwood, Carney, Wolff, Sweden -
burg, Mishler, Hagler, Ostberg and Mathews. Councilman Bateman
out of the City.

An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance extend-
ing the fire limits in the city of Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Councilman Miller the rules of order were sus-
pended for its consideration by the following vote; Ayes: Miller,
Underwood, Carney, Swedenburg, Hagler, Ostberg, and Mathews. (7)
Nays: (0) Councilmen Wolff, Mishler and Bateman absent.
On motion of Councilman Miller the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Miller, Underwood, Carney,
Swedenburg, Hagler, Ostberg and Mathews. (7) Nays: (0) Coun-
cilmen Wolff, Mishler and Bateman absent. The Mayor approved the
same and is numbered 1927.
On motion of Councilman Ostberg, Council adjourned.
