Mayor Putnam presiding, City Attorney d`J. B. Crowther and the follo,a ing named councilmen answered to roll call; Miller, Underwood, Carney, 'Nolff, Swedenburg, Mishler, Hagler, Ostberg and Mathews. Councilman Bateman absent. _ The minutes of the Regular semi-monthly Meeting of January 17th, 1916; the Adjourned Meeting of January 20th, 1916; and the Special Called NTeet ing of January 24th, 1916, were read and approved as read. A petition for the construction of a sewer on Republic Avenue, east of Fifth Street about seventJT-five (75) feet was received and the same was referred to the Sewer and Drainage Committee. Said Committee reported favorably on the above petition and recommended that it be added to the proposed sewer contract. On motion of Councilman Swedenburg, the report of the Commit- tee was adopted. Bids for the construction of certain sewers as advertised, were received as follows: L. I4. hurras, Eldred Tarry, C . T . Snyder & L. C . Ahart , Watts & Amerman, D. C. Stack, Eby Construction Co., Lyon & Peterson. After all bids had been duly considered, Councilman Carney moved that the bids of Snyder &, Ahart , Lyon & Peterson and D. G. Stack be retained, and that the certified checks of the other un- successful bidders be returned, and that the Council adjourn until Wednesday evening, February 9th, 1916, to further consider the bids. Mot ion adopted. On motion of Councilman Carney, Council adjourned until u`ednes- day evening, February 9th, 1916, at eight o' clock P . i City Clerk.
