Special called meeting of the City Council, January 24th, 1916.
Mayor Putnam presiding, City Attorney W. B. Crowther and the follow-
ing named councilmen answered to roll call; Miller, Underwood,
Carney, Wolff, Hagler, Ostberg and Mathews. Councilmen Swedenburg,
Mishler and Bateman absent.
The request and call for meeting and the report of service of
same was read as follows:
January 24, 1916.

Dear sir:
We, the undersigned members of the City Council of the city
of Salina, Kansas, hereby request you to call a special meeting of
said City Council at seven o'clock • M. , January 24th, 1916, for
the purpose of passing an ordinance amending:
Section 5 of Ordinance No. 1818; Section 6 of Ordinance No. 18199
Section 6 of Ordinance No. 1824; Section 7 of Ordinance No. 1838,
Section 7 of Ordinance No. 1846; Section 6 of Ordinance No, 1847,
Section 4 of Ordinance No. 1889; Section 3 of Ordinance No. 1896,
Section 3 of Ordinance No. 1905; Section 3 of Ordinance No. 1908,
Section 3 of Ordinance No. 1909; Section 3 of Ordinance No. 1910,
and Section 3 of Ordinance No. 1916, of the city of Salina, Kansas.

been requested by written request to call a special meeting of the
City Council of said City, at seven o'clock P.,., January 24, 1916;
by three of the Councilmen of said City, for the purpose of amending,
Section 5 of Ordinance No. 1818; Section 6 of Ordinance No. 1819;
Section 6 of Ordinance No. 1824; Section 7 of Ordinance No. 1838;
Section 7 of Ordinance No. 1846; Section 6 of Ordinance No. 1847;
Section 4 of Ordinance No. 1889; Section 3 of Ordinance No. 1896;
Section 3 of Ordinance No. 1905; Section 3 of Ordinance No . 1908;
Section 3 of Ordinance No. 1909; Section 3 of Ordinance No. 1910,
and Section 3 of Ordinance Nio. 1916, of the`City of Salina, Kansas,
do hereby call a special meeting of said City Council to comply
with said request, to be held at the Council Chamber at seven o'clock,

the call of the above and foregoing Special Meeting, by reading to
each of them the above request for such meeting and TVIayor's call for
the same, viz: Miller, Underwood, Carney, Wolff, Swedenburg, Mish-
ler, Hagler, Ostberg and Mathews. Councilman Bateman out of the
City.

On motion of Councilman Miller the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: i',;iiller, Underwood, Carney,
Wolff', Hagler, Ostberg and Mathews. (7) Nays: (0) Councilmen
Swedenburg, Mishler and Bateman absent. The Mayor approved the
same and is numbered 1917.
There being no further business, on motion of Councilman
Miller, Council adjourned.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance amend-

Ordinance No. 1819; Section Six (6) of Ordinance No. 1824; Section
Seven (7) of Ordinance No. 1838; Section Seven (7) of Ordinance

of Ordinance No. 1889; Section Three (3) of Ordinance No. 1896;
Section Three (3) of Ordinance No. 1905; Section Three (3) of
Ordinance No. 1908; Section Three (3) of Ordinance No. 1909; Sec-

ance No. 1916, and repealing such sections."
On motion of Councilman Hagler the rules of order were sus-
pended for its consideration by the following vote; Ayes: Miller,
Underwood, Carney, Wolff, Hagler, Ostberg and Mathews. (7) Ways:
(0) Councilmen Swedenburg, cviishler and Bateman absent.
On motion of Councilman Miller the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: i',;iiller, Underwood, Carney,
Wolff', Hagler, Ostberg and Mathews. (7) Nays: (0) Councilmen
Swedenburg, Mishler and Bateman absent. The Mayor approved the
same and is numbered 1917.
