Adjourned meeting of the City Council, January 20th, 1916.
Mayor Putnam presiding, City Attorney Vy • B. Crowther and the fol-
lowing named councilmen answered to roll call; Miller, Underwood,
Carney, Wolff, Swedenburg, Hagler, Ostoberg and Mathews. Council-
men Mishler and Bateman absent.
A. F. McCarty appeared before the Council and presented the
matter of the creation of a Welfare Board in the City of Salina;
and presented an ordinance which was generally discussed by citi-
zens and the Mayor and Council.
Councilman Ostberg moved that the ordinance be referred to
a Special Committee. Motion adopted.
Mayor Putnam referred the ordinance to a Special Committee
composed of Swedenburg, Mathews and Garney.
Mr. Quincy appeared before the Council and asked for the
location of a fire hydrant near the entrance of the Oakdale Park,
and the matter was referred to the Corporation and Franchise Com-
mittee for investigation, and if they deem it advisable to locate
said hydrant.
On motion of Councilman Garney, Council adjourned.
