Regular semi-monthly meeting of the City Council, December
6th, 1915. Mayor Putnam presiding, City Attorney W. B. Crow-
ther and the following named councilmen answered to roll. call;
Miller, Carney, Wolff, Hagler, Ostberg and Mathews. Councilmen
Underwood, Swedenburg and Bateman absent.
The minutes of the Regular Semi-Mlonthly Meeting of November
15th, 1915; Adjourned Meeting of November 18th, 1915; Adjourned
Meeting of november 22nd, 1915, and Special Session of November
29th, 1915, were read and approved as read.
D. E. Dunne & Company of Wichita, Kansas, submitted a writ-
ten agreement for the purchase of the proposed Public Improvement
Bonds, at the rate of 4.3411, and the Mayor and City Clerk were
authorized to enter into a contract for the sale of said bonds.
Councilman Carney moved that the Street Commissioner be
instructed to dump the street sweepings on the City lot at the
rear of the City Jail. Notion adopted.
The matter of disposing of the foot bridge, crossing the
river at Iron Avenue, was discussed, and Councilman Wolff moved
that the Street and Alley Committee be instructed to take the
bridEe down and dispose of the same.
Councilman Miller moved that the City Clerk notify the ;Mis-
souri Pacific Railway Company again to remove their tracks on Bish-
op Street, within ten (10) days. Motion adopted.
A petition asking for the construction of a sidewalk on
the west side of Columbia Avenue, from the south side of Lot 16,
to the north line of Lot 30, Block 2, Riverside Park Addition, a-
bout 450 feet, was received and referred to the Sidewalk Committ-
ee. ommitt-
ee.

Councilman Carney moved that the Fire Chief notify Harry
Peters to remove all surplus building material and rubbish, from
the street, parking and sidewalk at the corner of Fifth Street
and Iron Avenue, within twelve (12) hours. TvIot ion adopted.
Councilman Miller moved that the Fire Chief notify Fred
fllartin to remove the obstruction from the sidewalk and street, in
front of his building on South Santa Fe Avenue. Motion adopted.
J. a. humrill appeared before the Council and asked in re-
gard to the trees to be purchased for the City Park, between Sec-
ond and Third Streets, north of Elm Street.
The matter being in the hands of the Park and Parking Com-
mittee, on motion of Councilman Hagler, it was again referred. to
the Park and Parking Committee, with power to act.
The appraisers reports for the paving and excavating of Fifth
Street, from the south line of "dalnut Street to the north line of
Prescott Avenue; Eleventh Street, from the south line of Walnut
Street, to the north line of South Street; also for the curbing and
guttering of Thirteenth Street, from the north line of the right-
of-way of the Union Pacific Railroad Company to the south line of
Grand Avenue, were received and on motion of Coiuqcilman Carney,
P:ionday evening, December 20th, 1915, at 7:30 O'clock, was designat-
ed as a Special Meeting at which time the appraisers reports will
be taken up and acted upon by the Council, and all persons affect-
ed by such paving, curbing, guttering and excavating, can be pres-
ent and heard if they so desire, and that the City Clerk give no-
tice in the official City paper as provided by Law.
The claim of Thos. Anderson, for
damages, in the sum of
`6.4, 000.00, was discussed, and the matter was referred to the Ways
and ?vleans Committee, and the City Attorney.
On motion of Councilman Miller, Council adjourned.
