NOVEMBER 2, 1914.
Special session of the Mayor and Council, for the purpose of consid-
ering and hearing complaints of property owners as to the valuation plac-
ed on lots and pieces of ground liable to assessment for the cost of pav-
ing, guttering and excavating the alley between Santa Fe Avenue and Sev-
erith street, south of Iron avenue 201 feet. Mayor Niquette presiding
and the following named councilmen answered to roll call: Miller, Under-
wood, Dodds, Carney, Mishler, Hanly, Hagler. Councilmen Swedenburg, Ben
son and Mathews absent.
The report of the appraisers was taken up and read as follows:

We, R. V. Allison, P4. S. Prey and Ralph Anderson,
being duly and severally sworn according to law, each for himself, does
hereby solemnly swear that he is an owner of real estate in the city of
Salina, Saline county, Kansas, and is disinterested in any of the proper-
ty liable to special assessment for the cost of re -paving the alley between
Santa Fe avenue and Seventh Street, from the south line of Iron avenue
to the south line of Lot No. 115 on Seventh street and No. 116 on Santa
Fe avenue, as more particularly described and provided for in Ordinance
No. 1777 of the city of Salina: and that each of us will to the best of
our judgment and ability make a true and impartial appraisement of all
the lots and pieces of ground abutting on such respectibe streets above
described, without regard to the buildings and improvements on said lots
and pieces of ground, the distance to be improved, as set forth and de-
signated by the Mayor and Council in said Ordinance No. 1777. So help us GOD.
