AUGUST 21, 1914.
Special called meeting of the City Council, August 21st, 1914.
Mayor Niquette presiding, City Attorney H. C. Tobey and the following
named councilmen responded to roll call: Miller, Underwood, Dodds, Mish-
ler, Hanly, Hagler and Mathews. Councilmen Carney, Swedenburg and Benson
absent.
The request and call for meeting, and the report of service of same
was read as follows:

Salina, Kansas.
We, the undersigned members of the City Council
of Salina, Kansas, hereby respectfully request you to call a special sess-
ion of the City Council of said city, to meet im the Council Chamber, this
(Friday) evening, August 21st, 1914, at 7:30 o'clock t>. m.m for the pur-
pose of re -considering Ordinance No. 1785, and taking action on the same.

In compliance with the foregoing request and for
the purpose therein named, I hereby call a special meeting of the City
Council to meet at the time and place therein named, and the City Marshal
is hereby directed to notify each of the Councilmen and City Attorney of
said meeting and make due returns of said notice hereon.

TO THE COUNCIL:
I herewith return to you with my disapproval and veto
Ordinance No. 1785, being an ordinance entitled, "An ordinance letting
the contract for the construction and building of certain sewers in the
city of Salina."

re -advertise for bids to be received September 7th, 1914.

There being no quorum, on motion of Councilman Miller council
