Mayor Niquette was present and presided., and the following named councilmen answered to their names as the roll was called, viz: T4�lor Miller,, L. C. Underwood, Chas. Dodds, J. W. Carney, Aug. Swedenburg, John Mishler, J. Hagler, W. 0. Benson and Edd Mathews. Quorum present. The request for the call and the call of the meeting was read to the council as follows: Salina, Kans . June 26, 191-4. To Holl. V. E. Niquette, Mayor of the City of Salina, Kansas: You are hereby regWested to call, a special meeting, of the city council., to be held in the council. Cham er of said city, on this, Friday evening, Jure 26th, 197.4, at 7:30 o'clock p. m., for the purpose of having corrected the minutes of the meetings of said mayor and council held on the dates of November 24, 1913, February 16, 1914, and April 10, 1914, by an order nurie pro tune of said mayor and council, showing ad reciting that the rules of order of said mayor and council were duly sus- pended for the consideration and passage of Ordinance No. 1736, on Nov- ember 24, 1913, Ordinance No. 1747, on February 1F>>, 1914, and of Ordinance No. 1755 on April 10, 1914. For the purpose therein stated, in the above and fore- going request, which is hereby made a. part of this call, I, V. E. Niquette, Mayor of the City of Salina, Kansas, hereby call a special meeting of the council of said city, to be held in the council chamber, on this, Fri- day evening, the 26th day of June, 1914, at 7:30 o'clock p. m., and the City Marshal Howard Burke, is hereby commanded to notify each of the ten councilmen of said city of this call and make due return of the service thereof hereon. Councilman Dodcis, introduced. a resolution providing for the cor- rection of the minutes of three former council meetings, which is here- after set out in full, and moved that the rules of order be suspended for its consideration, which motion was carried upon roll_ call- by the follow- ing vote; Ayes; P;Iill_er, Underwood, Dodds, Carney, Swedenburg, Mishler, Hagler, Benson and Mathews. Such resolution was thereupon read to the council, as follows: 016 WHEREAS, by inadvertance, the clerk's minutes of the regular coun- cil meetings of dates of November 24, 1913, February 16, 1914, and Apr.tl. 10, 1914, do riot state or show that the rules of order of the Council were suspended for the consideration of Ordinances Nos. 1736, 1747 and 1755, respectively, when, in fact, such rules or order were suspended at each of such several meetings; therefore, Be it Resolved by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina; 1. That the records and minutes of the regular meeting of the mayor and council of date of November 24, 1913., relative to the passage of Ordi- nance No. 1736, be amended to read as follows: "Councilman Miller rr.oved that the rules of order be suspended for the consideration of Ordinance No. 1736, which motion, upon a call of the roll prevailed by the following vote; viz: Ayes: Miller, Hansen, Dodds, Brick, Swedenburg, Hanly, Steven- son and Studebaker." 2. That the records and minutes of the regular monthly meeting of the mayor add council, of date of February 16, 1914, relative to the pass- age of Ordinance No. 1747, be amended to read as follows: "On motion of Councilman Stevenson the rules of order were suspended .for the considera- tion of Ordinance No. 1747 by the following aye and nay vote: Ayes: Mill.- er, Hansen, Dodds, Brick, Swedenburg, Hanly, Stevenson and Studebaker and Benson." 3. That the records arid minutes of the regular meeting of the may- or and council of date of April 10, 1914, relative to the passage of Ord- inance No. 1755, be amended and made to read as follwws: "Councilman Dodds moved that the rules of order be suspended for the consideration of Ord- inance No. 1755, which motion, upon a call of the roll, was carried by the following vote: Ayes: Miller, Hansen, Dodds, Brick, Swedenburg, Hanly, Stevenson, Studebaker and Benson." And that this resolution be entered upon the records of the City nunc pro tune as of the respective dates of November 24, 1913, February 16, 1914 and April., 10, 1914. Adopted June 26, 1914. Upon the final adoption of the resolution by aye and nay vote, the same was adoptdd as follows: Ayes: Miller, Underwood, Dodds, Carney, Swedenburg, Mishler, Hagler, Benson and Mathews. In the sale of this issue of Bonds, the Company re- quired the suspension of rules; so to conform with their demands, the City had the above resolution passed.
